first of all we got the tranny up on the block and the driverside axle in as we slid the tranny on..I followed the instructions on VFAQ.com so you know what I am talking about..anyway the tranny wont go on any further..its about 1/8 inch from the pegs that that tranny goes onto the block and it wont budge any further and there is a good size gap..so we tried to put bolts on and see if it would suck in..but it didnt the only bolt that will go on is the top bolt and everything else just wont go in and will not go any further and I cant get it to go on the pegs..any tips on how I can fix this to get the tranny to slide all the way on??

I don't know if a 2g is the same as a 1g, but one my 1g i had the same problem. Turns out the fins on the tranny were gettin stuck on a crossmember, i had to slowly raise the tranny jack and use a screwdriver to guild the fins over the frame.

You can try usin 4 longer bolts, and thread them in a little bit at a time, and it should slide right in. Just make sure the shaft is not at an angle and it should go. I had to do it the day before yesterday and it was a PITA.

I think the shaft is at an angle because the engine dropped alittle and I put a bolt on the top so there is no gap then a gap on the bottom..I will try to put the 4 longer bolts in and slide it in straight..

I think I may have to pull the tranny again! because I think the input shaft is not lineing up and sliding in..because the tranny keeps pinching at the top and wont budge forward!..I have no clue at this point..HELP!
