yea i checked both but they dont tell about how much to put in,i'll just buy extra i can always return it,thanks

Syncromesh is for the gear box. Put a GL5 in the transfer and rear end. Mobil1 gear oil is good, cheap and available all over.
I use it in the transfer and rear end, and also in the jet pumps on my SeaDoos.

little confused after searching, can i use the pennzoil synchromesh for t-case and rear diff, i found one person said yes and other no, can someone clear this up
thanks

I read this thread and now I'm worried. I've been running Pennzoil Synchromesh in my tranny, transfer case and rear diff for about a month now. Will it cause any damage to my transfer case and rear diff? Should I change it to a Mobil 1 Gear oil or another heavier fluid?

I run Pennzoil Syncromesh in the tranny, and Redline Heavy Shockproof in the transfer case and rear differential. I think it took 2 quarts of Shockproof for the T-case and rear diff. Its good stuff.

According to the Haynes Manual:
Transmission 2.0 Turbo - 2.4 quarts
Transfer case - 0.5 quarts
Rear Diff - 0.85 quarts

Manual transaxle lubricant type: API GL4 SAE 75W90 or 75W-85 gear lubricant
Transfer case: API GL4 SAE 75W-90 or 75W-85 hypoid gear lubricant
Rear Diff: API GL5 SAE 90, 85W90 or 80W90 gear lubricant.

What the heck is a hypoid gear lubricant?

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=181805 "The transfer case and transmission use the same oil. It's the rear end that uses gear lube, which is different."

Doesn't this mean that I only need to change the rear diff fluid to something like Mobil 1 80W90? And that Pennzoil Synchromesh would be okay for the transfer case? (since it uses the same fluid as the tranny?)

Well I ordered 2 quarts of Redline Heavy Shockproof Gearoil for the transfer case and rear diff. I'll change it when I get it.

i would use mobil gear oil in the t-case and rear just to be safe, some people will say it doesnt matter, but your talking 10-20 bucks to whatever at-case and rear diff cost..
