Does Pennzoil Synchromesh need time to work?

I apologize if I overlooked something, but I've read several threads on how great Synchromesh is.. and so I bought some to hopefully cure or alleviate problems of my tranny grinding into 2nd... So far it doesnt seem to be doing a thing... is there an amount of time I need to be driving on it for it to start working? Or am I missing something... Should I be forcing into second? Skipping second and trying it occassionally? I honestly dont know.. any light that can be shed is apprciated.

Btw, if you need the info

90 GST 6-bolt
95 FWD Tranny (shifted like butter before swapping clutch) (clutch spring busted out and didnt know wtf happened, had the car for less than 24 hours)

The last time I tried to get the Mitsubishi GL4 the minimum they would sell to me was five gallons. Has anybody tried the Amsoil?

I forgot to mention that I am currently using BG Synchroshift. It works better than what was in it and royal purple. I would like to try the Mitsubishi GL4 or the Amsoil. These oils aren't cheap either.

that stuff is crap... it is great i think if all your car see is temps in the 30's but it warmer climates i dont think its any good.. its about as thick at ATF i run redline MT90 and i know several others that run it and we all love it... it might be a bit think when its cold but once the trans warms up its awesome!

I just bought amsoil the other day, car will be put backtogether in the next couple days so I will review it.

please do put a review... also send it out to be tested if you can. i was planing to switch to amsoil as soon as my motor is broken in. i would like to know how amsoil and redline compare in a trans

About a buck in quart price for starters with Redline being cheaper, but AMSOIL still is on top due to its operational factors, but if you're doing case drains like you do your motor, then save the dough and head to Redline.

If you're an automatic, I'd definitely head to AMSOIL - really pulls the heat away and a very durable fluid.

(Sorry, but you 2G NT users with the 420A motor: you guys need to stick with ATF+4 stuff for your trannies being that Chrysler built tranny..)
