Tranny filter change

I have looked on the faqs and asked local dsm ears but no one seems to know, how do I change the transmission filter? How difficult is it and how long does it take to do

Drain transmission, drain plug 17mm
Remove the transmission pan (14 bolts 10mm) and you will see the filter.
Then remove the 4 10mm bolts holding it in.

I highly recommend getting the gasket and filter from the dealership. The filters from most part stores don't fit well. The gaskets are also junk in the parts store kits. They are made of real soft rubber that will squish out before the torque spec is reached. It will seal for a while, but the bolts will back out because they were not stretched.

Hopefully mine doesn't start leaking!
I used a Purolator kit from Rockauto.
I have read that the cork gaskets work way better.

the guys from atdsm, recommend the napa filters over all others except oem.

I picked up my gasket and filter so I'll be doing the change tomorrow, does anyone know the fill capacity?

Should say on the kit you purchased. Most seem to say about 4.8 quarts if you only empty the pan.
