trade a Eclipse Rs for a Integra GSR

sombody told me they wanted to trade their GSr with 153k for my car. Its sounds sketchy because hondas get stolen all the time. There is a bunch of chop shops around here. The guy trading me said it has a cr*py macco paint job. Which also raises red flags

personally i wouldnt do it. someone willing to trade a gsr for a non turbo eclipse to me screams like you said stolen or more likely salvage title or shitty build or hack job mods that will cost a ton to fix

If you think it's a shady deal, run the vin number to check and see if it is stolen. If it comes back clean, then it's up to you. Honda's aren't my thing, but hey if you like it more power to ya.

Make sure it has a clean title nothing worse then losing both cars especially sense you mentioned their are a few chop shops around you area.

Exactly what everyone else is saying. Just have the vin ran by a officer. Check the title to see if it's clean. Run a carfax even. Make sure you test drive it and look it over good. Or take someone that knows about Honda motors to look it over.

Bring a scanner, check CEL's, if you can do a compression test and definitely take a few rides it in. If the title is clear and no red flags pop up I'd say go for it, I love DSM's but I've always liked teggys and it's nice to have a garage with a nice variety !

Real quick......do this check the vin on the doors,back of the engine bay etc!

I got caught up in a real stupid situation. I bought a car that was stolen and then swapped. Without knowing, I sold the car a few months later and all hell broke loose!

To me it looks like aftermarket headers and a better radiator. The intake manifold on the other hand is oem. I've seen people swap the dash to change the vin and left the others alone. Thoughs are the only two vins I'd check before running a carfax. I'm not much of a integra fan. Like the civic more, but my Honda days are way in the past. Too much shady people and unwanted attention.

Dont do it.. Especially if its sketchy, most likely they have a secondary key for it, will trade you. Then come by and steal it and re sell it or chop it, its been happening with tons of hondas around her aswell. Same exact setup

Anything dealing with honda is sketchy... it's an easy target for thieves.

I say forget about this specific car.
Who the heck would trade a gsr for rs anyways. Think about that. It's like trading a 99 leather gsx for a geo metro.

Id only do it if it was an itr. I think the jdm is sexy. Side note any one ever notice that the jdm teggy has slanted lights (eyes) and the usdm teggy has round eyes? Just food for thought.

yeah thats a "ceramic coated" DC sport header.. says DC sports right on there.. also manifold is stock.. your also missing a exhaust manifold stud on there.. the GSR is a sweet little ride.. b18c1 can take a beating with forced induction...

yes it can. my buddy has a gsr stock motor 212k on it with 60trim pushing 10 psi 375whp and its been going strong for over a year

The last part is very true, A performance shop around here will only work on select few imports and no honda's because he does not like the crowd they attract
