traction advice

ok so obviously i dont have a awd and i dont have traction cus of my mods.. so im at 20 psi with my evo316G... now today was 72 outside and beautiful and i had traction in 2nd gear... usually if its 60 or colder i need to spin them alittle for them to grip in 2nd. so my first gear is crazy and its gonna be hard to get traction... lsd???? nope aint gonna do it.... i know its my best thing to do but i dont have the time to take out my trans and also money to buy a lsd... so i thought many the kyb adjustables.... will they help out? motor mounts? i have no wheel hop, i just have them spinning. my alignment is dead on so that isnt a issue.. just need some inputs... thanks

Some really good tires, a Slowboy LSD insert could be a cheaper alternative, depending on how much power your putting down, and thats about it, you just have to deal with the fact that you have a FWD turbo and cant hit the gas hard without spinning , its all good, you shoulda bought an AWD...

Well the key thing to get traction in a fwd would be a lsd. Motor mounts will help but like you said I think they are mostly for wheel hop. Adjustable shocks can help to firm up the back so you dont have as much weight transfer. Another main area to look at would be tires, this is what puts the power to the road so in a fwd you will want to be looking at the top of the line for the best possible traction. Also what size are you running? wider is obviously better. I have similar mods to you with adjustable shocks, urthane motor mounts & 225/40/18 tires. I can spin in first anytime but in second its usually only a small amount of slip. I'm in the 350 or so crank hp range according to my dsmlink lb/min readings. I will be installing a Quaife LSD in a couple weeks when the car comes out of storage, then well see if its worth all the $$$ they charge for it.

Yes lowering the car will help him as lowering the car obviously lowers the center of gravity & aftermarket springs are usually stiffer then stock to help prevent weight transfer, but looking at his gallery I'd say the car is already pretty low .
