Ok I searched and really couldnt find the answer I needed. Or was clear enough for me to not ask for myself.

I checked my TPS and its not working properly. I have some avaliable locally to me but they are from a 91+ and I have a 90. Mine has the wiring connected to the TPS and is not removable. Can I splice the wires from my 90 into a 91+ TPS?

My second question is.

I checked my ISC motor with a 6v battery and it clicks when I inatially rub the power wire on it but I do not hear a humming like stated I should hear. Does this mean its bad? Like stated I do hear a click but after that nothing. I read I should hear a click or humming.

So can someone please advise?

I know how to check it. It already did. I just clicked. I read it should hummm or vibrate. It does click though.

I did a couple searches and came up with no good answers. Can I use a 91-94 TPS on my 90? I read one post where someone had tried it and had some idle surge problems and asked for help but no one asnwered him. Just looking for some answers.

hey i got idle surge sometimes and sometimes it dies and at low rpm mine sound like its missing and i got a loss of power not to mension poor gass mileage. Ive checked :

TPS - good
ISC - coils good and when off car and turn key the shaft goes in and out like 1/8" (is this normal?)
EGR Valve- good
Hoses - good
Plugs - replaced
Wires - replaced

What else can i do???

Have you done a boost leak test? It might be a vacuum leak causing the idle surging and poor power and gas milage. When was the last time your fuel filter was changed? Maybe its being starved for fuel at idle and different points of the RPM range? Have you tested your injecters?

How did you test your ISC? Check Vfaq.com for proper checking procedure. I have not even got a definite answer on how mine should work but im sure its not working properly, because it only clicks with a 6 volt power supply and does not have this continous "humming" I think it should have since its what my manuel and some other refrences I have checked said it should be doing.

One more thing, do you have the ground wire connected to your throttle body? I have heard this could be the cause of some idling problems as well.

Now back to my original question.
I am afraid if I use a 91-94 TPS sensor and cut and splice the wires it will not have the proper OHM reading. Can somone who has done this let me know how it turned out? I do not want to waste my money buying a 91-94 TPS if it is not going to work. I know they should have the same OHM readings but I am afraid I will lose some OHM reading soldering the wires back together. Can someone chime in.

I dont have a turbo. I checked ISC from a site everyone suggested and mine is clicking also. Ground wire connected to TB. If i connect a 6v battery to my ISC it does nothing but vibrate but if i connect it to the factory harness and turn the key, the shaft move in and out only 1/8" or so. IS this normal? My car seems like it has a miss at low RPM and I changed all the wires and plugs. Maybe a stuck open injector. Fuel filter new. Someone please answer our question about the ISC....
