I am a newbie to this site but i have worked on my car doing little things here and there. i just noticed the other day my car (1996 mitsubishi eclipse gs without turbo, automatic 2.0l) makes a cling/clonging sound when i put it in gear it does not do it when in neutral or park and it goes away when i accelerate. i have heard it could be the torque converter bolts are loose i was just wondering how to tighten them. i was researching it. i think i have to take the corssmember off then take off a rivited plate to check the bolts i was just wondering if this is the correct way to check the bolts.

please help
