Wow dude that was hard to understand.. use spell check..

topline is who supplies mitsu.. so basically topline is OEM. if you ordered the 2nd gen rebuild kit then you are going to get the 8.5:1 compression pisitons that are standard quality and standard compression on a stock 2g dsm.

Good luck with the english there..

Dude he's from sweden , meaning he's chating to us from across the globe, and is doing it in a different language to boot, so cut him some slack. Shure reading that imperfect example of sentence fragments and spelling can give certain people brain drains; but we understood him and thats what matters.

P.s I never knew TopLine was the oem supplier, I guess we both learned something new today.

if you have a 1 g.. order the kit, can you get the 8.5:1 compression pistons... just wondering
There used to be an option to get the 2g pistons in a 1g kit back when www.eagleautomotivewarehouse.com was in business. I can be done, but the cost of the kit was quite a bit more. I got my rebuild from them using 1g pistons for about$360 after shipping. That didn't include an oil pump though. the 2g piston kit for a 1g was about $550 if i remember right. EAW went out of business though. That really sucks, because he had some of the best prices around!

When you do the rebuild, you really need to measure the tolerances on the oil pump. If they are as new, like mine was, then I decided not to buy an oil pump. And I am confidant that no harm will come to my engine from not changing it. I personally don't throw money at replacing parts that are going to be exactly the same specs. as the ones that I already have. Just my two cents.

TopLine will sell you the 2g pistons with the rebiuld kit of the 1g, I would know this becuse I bought the exact kit it cost about 20-30 more I belive to get the upgraded pistions

Listening to this thread, continue...

Didn't know TopLine was OEM.

i personally woundnt use 7 bolt rods.. if you can a nice set of 1g big rods you will have a nice power combination. Also i dont beleive you can mount oem pistions on aftermaket rods. the stock pistions use a "locked" wristy pin that has retainers on each side i beleive

a lot of the aftermarket rods such as eagle, scat, ect... use a floating pin system. if you look on www.vfaq.com they will have the machining requirements to fit the 2g pistions on a set of 1g rods.
