Maybe it was my fault I didn't check the clearance on this shaft stub, but there was no info inside the box!

This is exactly what happen with my rebuild. I used a top line pump and a cheap stub and the EXACT same thing happened. Im using an OEM now :)

edit: my rebuild had less then 5 miles.
 
I think it has more to do with who is assembling because i have ran both and still haven't had any issues, but instead of the BSE i usually machine down the stock balance shaft instead of running the stubby also ams makes a cnc machined one

I ran a china pump not even sure if it was topline or what for 8 years, and the last 2 the pump gas seen 750+ at the crank. Motor melted a 8 year old standard wiesco in a 2.4.
