Well, after installing a bov, it went well til my turbo decided not to spool up anymore :( So i pulled it out yesterday and split it apart. Bearings are shot and the turbine will not spin. Found a great deal on a 14b though that I'm picking up today so I'm pumped. Ready for a 16g though soon

Here it is. Only took an hour and a half to pull out hahaha

Sorry to hear bout your turbo. Before you put the new one, do you know why it seized up? Id try to figure it out before to install the 14b, only for it to freeze up. Im assuming it sufferedfrom oil cocking but check your feed lines.

The feed lines were good and I had a ton of oil in my IC and lower hose. The bearings are shot. I'm not wasting time on rebuilding that one. It's just the 13g

99% of the time when the shaft stops spinning on older factory turbos such as the 13G in the example, there is actually nothing wrong with the turbo itself....tons of oil coking from over 100k of daily driving will build up behind the heat shield on the turbine side, forcing the heat shield to contact the backside of the turbine wheel until it eventually locks up the rotating assembly.

Yea, my blades are ate up.

The shields are lose and rubbing against them. I can turn the turbine but with a little force but not much. But it's not spinning freely

Here's the inside.

It's a wonder that you made any boost at all with that thing- the turbine inducer tips are eaten so badly that they are lower than the exducer.

Did you have any type of mechanical failure that sent something into the turbine housing? That type of blade damage is far more than what I would consider to be "normal".

make sure you use new feed/drain lines or brake clean them VERY well and blow dry with compressed air.
