If I'm using the car mainly as a daily driver or drag racing (on private roads and strips, of course) then do you think the rear wing is better on or off? Cosmetically I'm kind of preferring it off but I'll take performance over cosmetics at the moment. Managing to spin tyres in 2nd gear and a little in 3rd at the moment and so I'm thinking the more downforce the better, but don't even know if the wing would come into play at those speeds (and considering I'm going to finish a 1/4 mile at 117mph tops).

For the record, the wing I have is a GT wing and not the stock wing which is probably a good thing as the stock Evo I wing isn't renowned for its aerodynamic qualities.

I'd lose the bigass wing, you're not trapping speeds high enough for it to do anything (120ish). It's just extra weight.

By the time the wing is generating enough downforce to aid in traction, you probably wouldn't need it for traction anyway. The only side effect may be a lower trap speed from the extra drag...

As stated before the wing is useless at your speeds. Lose it. If you REALLY want to aid traction, start with your tires and then look into fine tuning your suspension.

Yeah, I would love some slicks for a bit of racing but they are so tough to find in 16" size.

find the oem spoiler, it should help just as much as that WING.

Nah, wings on the Evo I and II were notorious for not have any real aerodynamic qualities at all. It was with the Evo III that a rear spoiler was introduced which had aerodynamics in mind

I concur with everyone above. The wing pictured (looks to be around gt300 spec's) wouldn't be very helpful (if any at all) in speeds below 120. A wing with that much surface area would be good for stability at speeds over 120, as for traction issues, tires and suspension (also mentioned above) are your best bet.
