TMO logger wont connect..(with pics)

i cant figure out why my laptop wont connect this is my cable i made i folowed the instruction perfectly i dont get it.. tell me what you think

If that's a female connector it looks like you have the diode on pins 3 and 4 not 2 and 3 as well as the ground on pin 1 not 5. Since your connecting to a PC the banded end of the diode and the data wire goes to pin 2.

so the thick black band goes towards the 2nd pin, and where do the others go i guess i read the diagram totally wrong =/ oops

What you did was flop the pins, it a common problem. People seem to forget that right and left swap when they flip the connector over and start soldering.
