Car wont start, cannot connect logger to ECU

91 TSi I cannot get my Pocketlogger to connect to the ECU and the car will not start. No spark from what I have seen. I think its either a dead ECU or isnt there a relay that comes on to power the ECU. How do I go about testing, and where is the relay located if there is one.

Any ideas is greatly appreciated

I non't know about the rely but you can pull the ECU, open it and see if it's all fried up like my old one.

Check to see that your CEL comes on for about 4 seconds when you first turn the ignition on. If it doesn't then the ECU isn't booting up. That could be caused by capacitor leakage in the ECU, a bad MPI relay, or blown MPI or backup power fuses.
