i'm in the process of building my motor and car now, but i don't know what to do when it comes to rods. a buddy who knows his stuff about building engines, said he would prefer steel rods. i just wanted to ask all of you which would be better for my application (see my profile) and i've heard about driving with aluminum rods, but i know i don't want aluminum. this is one of the many choices i haven't come to. thanks

Yeah unfortunately he is a nice guy and comes off as being very helpful but like I said I have proof of his work and the problem is in his mind he can do no wrong and when confroted with the issue he will deny it and not stand behind the work he does. I spent a lot of money with him and got screwed royally and he didn't care. I can cite many things that happened with my motor which lasted about 1000 miles. I don't know what happened but facts are facts. All I am saying is there is a sucker born every minute and I was that sucker. Do your homework and don't beleive anyone until you have experience and facts. Maybe things have changed there but I can never do or refer business to him not ever!

well i'm not trying to be rude, but do you think that maybe the installation of the parts, or how the parts where treated (not meaning the cryo treatment) while in the engine may have a roll on what happened? i'm not saying anything bad about you, and i don't know how you drive your car. not every company has all 100% satisfied customers, but then again, those customers sometimes are trying to get something for nothing. i'm not saything that about you, but you may have gotten a hold of some faulty parts, or the installation was wrong.

I understand where you are also coming from however I don't want to discuss it in this thread nor do I want to start a thread on the subject. If you want the whole story I will discuss it in private. I don't necessarily like discussing how I got screwed in public as it is somewhat of an embarrassment to my lacking of knowledge at the time. I know exactly what went wrong and it had nothing absolutely to do with driving or installion of the engine. It had to to with the work performed vs what was promised. Like I said if you want the story I can show you pics and details like emails I had with him etc. It will take me some time to dig up the detailsI have since learned a great deal about these cars as well as others and if I had the money, time and resources could build a true rocket out of one these which I don't. I have my hands full keeping it on the road running 400-500hp however I built the last motor myself which is fully modded and I am now 3.5 years into it and about 30,000 miles so far with no problem! When the car is tuned I drive it with my foot the floor but when it isn't running right it dosen't get driven. That is how I have always been!

well all in all, i think i will go for the steel rods. yes it would be great to be able to say, "I have titanium rods", but on the other hand, say i have titanium rods isn't going to do me any good if the car breaks sooner than i would hope. i would love to find out for sure if the titanium rods are better all around, but until that time i will stick with the steel rods.
