hey guys, im new to all this forums and all. I've had my 99 eclipse gsx for almost 3 years now, really interested in doing some mods. I want to start with the tires cause my are no good, just wanted an opion about the Goodwrench G-force a/t kdw or the Nitto neo gens. I currently have the Goodyear eagle F1's 235/45/17 also wanted to kno if it was a good idea to stay with that tire size. ohhh an also the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 starspecs.

thanks,

depends on what you want. you have to give and take with any decision on tires. if you want more grip you get wider tires but your turning radius decreases. if you want to drive on the street drag and track (little bit of everything) I personally love the dunlop star spec. there cheaper than potenzas and last longer than s drives. but thats my opinion. also if you go with a wider tire than the stock 205 you should look at a fitment guide before you try and put them on and realize that you need to roll your fenders or use spacers.

I work at discount tire, and Ive narrowed the tires im getting for my car down to 3.

BFG g force kdw
nitto 555
and dunlop z1

I think im going to end up getting the 555.

I really wish they made the hankook rs3 in 245 45 17 or that would be the tire id get hands down.

Couldn't help you to much on the size, but I have ran nitto neo gens for the past 4 years and love them, decent at the track with low tire pressure, and good on the corners with a little aggressive street driving, very predicable tire, they let you know in advance when they are about to let go. And in my opinion you cant go wrong with the price.

I also have heard good things about the star specs, and hankook evo v12s, but don't have first hand experience with those tires.

I also run Nitto Neo Gens on my Talon - I have nothing bad to say about them at all. As stated above, they are very predictable tires, which is a good thing. On another car, I have the Nitto Invo's - the tires heat up great!

I've heard very good reviews about the G-Force's and the Starspecs but I have yet to use them.

thanks guys
blucas1984 looking for all 3 grips well, corning and wear. im not a crazy aggressive drive but i like to have with the car. hoping toi find something similiar to the eagle F1's i have now.
