Ok, So in Kansas it gets hella hot. I have 5% tint all the way around. I wanted to tint the sunroof, but my tint guy said that if I was to do that it may crack. Any one have experience with it? Also I can get the whole windshield tinted like 50% or something and that cuts down temps as well. My tint guys has tinted his windshield on his NSX and he loves it. So experience on tinted sunroofs. Thoughts, comments.

Your sunroof is already tinted, and on top of that it has a shade you can close to block out the sun. Tinting the windshield is highly illegal. Why not just get one of those windshield reflectors and put it up when you aren't driving.

This is true would save me like 100 bucks never thought about it that way. Screw windshield tint. I don't have the sliding part in my sunroof so I can't block the sun out, I just didn't know if you could tint it darker of not.

Ya the sunroof is already tinted..Go to a junk yard and pull the slider from a sebring, avenger or dsm..You can tint the front widsheild like 4 or 6 inches down, but anything over that is very ileagal.

Like Bud said, grab the sliding visor from a junk yard, or ask someone from a partout ad on here. A gray one shouldn't be hard to find. But my tan one was a bi*** to find. They are also available from Mitsu still. But a new one will be almost $200, rediculous, I know.

You guys are lucky tho..I wish 1g's came with the sliding thing for the sunroof..

But then again The sunroof is tinted pretty good So It doesn't bother me that much..

Yeah that is true. I like the whole manual pop up sunroof on the 1g's cause now days they are all electric. My stealth has one that you like turn a knob around and it goes up, it is so cool. I get amused by simple things.

The manual pop up on the 1g's is pretty cool..But I usually take it out and put the wind deflector in If I'm going for a cruise....But then if you have the wind deflector in, the sun pisses you off cause it's in your face..So it's either have the sunroof in and have the sun not in your face, or have it out and have alot of wind but sun in your face..

My electric one is far less of a PITA bud. LOL I can have it set to any position I want and not worry about the sun being in my face. :p

See that's why I wished they came with power sunroofs..Maybe I could make a 2g power sunroof work..Hmm, nah That would take alot of fab that I don't feel like doing..

It sure is. Just getting one that is not working to work again is a big enough pain in the ass. Let alone fabbing one and wireing it, and getting it to work.

Thats where toddle switches come in handy..Or you could always wire it to an open spot in the fuse box, and use the stock switch..But you would have to cut into the headliner to mount the switch which isn't hard with a dremel..But then mounting the brackets, etc, would take some engeneering to make work..But I'm sure it could be done..

It could. But you forget the 2G sunroofs have an control module that you need to wire in as well. I had that go bad on the 95 auto I sold a few months ago. It sucked replacing it.

WTF huh,how would tinting the sun roof cause it to crack? Am I missing something here, I've never heard that one before?

Not sure how tint could cause a sunroof to crack, but I have 20% on top of whatever was there from the factory. My shade constantly rattled on me so I took it out, and just tinted over it.

They make a clear tint you can apply to windshields that blocks a portion of the light to reduce interior temps.
Can't remember what it's called for the life of me right now.
