What does everyone think about 5% tint on a 1995 Eagle Talon? Tomorrow morning I am scheduled to have all the windows except front windshield done in 5% tint. Do you think this is ricey or what? The only reason I am tinting the windows is because whenever I come out of a grocery store or something theres always someone walking past my car looking in the windows. So what do you think?

That is annoyingly dark if you ask me. You will probably get pulled over within the first week of having it. 35% is the perfect tint IMO, but to each his own. I don't think tint is really qualification for rice either.

It all depends on what color car you have. And also if you go with a straight black tint, or one of the funky colored or mirror ones.

One easy way to keep people from looking into your car is to park further out in the parking lot. This also reduces the risk of some idiot hitting it or opening their door into it.

But, other than that, it's illegal.

Well where I am from all the police in the area are our friends... and anywhere in like a 45 mile radius I can pretty much get out of a ticket. I am just going with dark black 5% tint. I don't like mirrored tint or colored :(

5% is extremely dark for your front windows. The back isn't too bad, but don't forget at night you will hardly be able to see out of the windows. Backing up with the 5% on the rear is going to be really hard. I've had 5% on the rear with 35% on the front and it's not too bad, but like I said, at night you can basically just see headlights and that's it. Keeps the sun out though, so your car isn't quite as hot :)

I had 5% on the rear glass of my previous car, it sucked when backing up at night but it really helped when the occaisional a-hole came up behind me with his high beams on.

A buddy of mine put 2 layers of 5% on top of each other on the hatch and the rear quarter windows of his black 1G. It made for an interesting look but it was like trying to look through paint when driving. He had to lean out his window or open his door every time he backed up, night or day.

Haha, so true. I don't even have really dark tint on my car and it's impossible to see out of my side and rear windows at night. I have to roll down the windows and stick my head out to back up. :p

yeah, it's always nice to get looks from people as they watch you with your head out the window backing up.... They're usually like WTF

I have 5% on my truck and I can never back up or anything...its just too dark. I have 20%all around on my spyder and its perfect.

Well I have Grey interior so I don't think it will look to bad. I will post up some pictures tomorrow after I get it done. My plan though by end of summer is the murder look... black paint, black tint, black rims with chrome lip, and of course the performance under the hood :)

I love the murder look. When i bought my car I really considered painting it either red or black (leaning more towards black) but those are so common =/
Then after driving my car for a little while i'm kind of starting to like the burgundy (maroon) look.

Yeah I like the burgundy but I mean I have some dents in my car... and have to get body work done some time so why not get it painted also. I like white but down here in South Carolina white gets dirty too fast with pollen and dust. So black is whats 95% likely going on the talon.

yeah i have a few dings as well. I also need to match the front left fender (it's just bare metal from the guy i bought it from) so i was thinking of just repainting the car. I have tan leather for the interior though so black might make it really hot in there =/ (and my air just went out or won't get cold at least..) but some tint might help the heat i'm hoping ;)

20% is the way to go its not too dark and its not too light

they do make 15% tint too its not advertised as much but it would be a little darker than 20% but not as dark as 5% tint

my father has 2.5% tint on his truck its not bad in the day
at night I usually roll the windows down to see though

I have 15% on my car and it is more then enough to hide all my gauges, deck, pocketlogger and safc.

+2 on 15% tint. I had that on my old car got pulled over a couple times and they never said anything about my tint being to dark. IMO 15% is the perfect darkness. Its not to dark but at the same time its not to light.

i also wanted to add that some inspection places will not inspect your car if you have tint on the front windows (as it's at least illegal up here), unless it's completely stock. Just wanted to let you know about that one.

I would say 5 percent would look pretty cool, but its way too dark (and a pain to see through). My brother and a buddy just got pulled over recently and the cops made them take the tint off (atleast its only a fix it ticket for us up here). Its good that you are friends with most of the cops down there but you have to remember if you ever drive the car out of state on a warm summer day or worse a winter day so your windows are up, other cops may not be so forgiving and it sucks having to spend money on somehting when you just have to rip it off. A buddy of mine has 35 percent all the way around on his black evo and that looks tight, and many states actually allow 35 percent.
