Hey guys and girls. I need some help. I had recently done a timing belt job on my 97 4G63T engine. I had used the VFAQ guide for the TB and BS job. The problem I'm running into is that when I had installed the TB, it was tight. Now it is way too loose. Loose enough to remove the belt from the intake and exhaust gears by hand. :notgood: My other question is how many degrees should my intake and exhaust cams be from one another. I'm not running dsmlink or anything of the sort. The car is more or less oem with the exception of a dejon tool cold air intake with a K&N air filter as well as a cat convertor delete. The engine turns over just fine, and is getting good fuel and spark. I'm almost positive the problem is the timing is off. Here's a list of new parts: Timing Belt, Balance Shaft Belt, the 3 pulleys that came with my ebay kit, and a new hydro tensioner. I also have the TB tool kit from Jay Racing as well. The engine currently does not have any of the TB covers installed. So access shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for the help everybody. I had planned on fixing the issue tomorrow with your help. Thanks again.

Do all of the timing marks on the gears line up

They did when I had installed the timing belt. It had a little bit of slack in it when installed, but now it seems that I could remove the timing belt from the intake and exhaust cams with my bare hands. Any chance I goofed on the TB job?? It's the only thing I can think of.
