Well I reviewed my question and found nothing on here to help out so now I'm asking. On the timing belt tensioner I know its possible to tighten it the wrong way. Can you actually tighten the belt like that? If you can or cant does anyone have any pics up close of it on there engine? I have an issue with my car in the shop. They said the guy that replaced the head tighten the tensioner the wrong way. Causing the belt to get damaged an the water pump too. They also said that the oil pump gearing is crap from it being like that. I know this when I got the car I checked the belt to see how tight it was. I couldnt make the belt sag by pushing between the cams so It seemed good to me. As it had tension.
From looking at vfaq it seems that if you try to tighten it the wrong way it would just get looser. So I'm stumped here please help.
