Ok, I found a rip in my timing belt due to a sensor that got caught between the idler pulley (because my cover somehow went missing). Took old one off, and put everything in time. I however cannot seem to get the belt around the tensioner. I used an allen key and spun it around by the little holes, but there is still not enough slack. Any ideas? Im stumped....

Sure did. Got a new one. Me and my dad got the belt on by putting it over the oil pump sprocket and the crank, then taking it up to the top. There is a little slack by the tensioner, but the cam gears seem to be off just a tad. I dont know if it is because the exhaust cam is relaxed or if I need to fix it. It is the exhaust cam that relaxes, right? LOL

I think it was just hard to get it over the tensioner because I didnt take the water pump pulley out, so it was really tight clearances. But this way seemed to work. Its all lined up, the balance shaft sprocked looks to be just a hair off. Dont think it will be enough to effect anything....

Havent cranked it up yet, still putting everything back together...hopefully it will go well.LOL

yea i've got some bad memory of the timing belt tensioners. i got that squeal too, my alt belt was on a hair too loose.
