timing belt questions

Ok so a cupple questions first is this look like all i should get?

Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit : Mitsubishi Eclipse 90-99
OEM 4G63 Timing Belt : Mitsubishi Eclipse 90-99
OEM Timing Belt Idler Pulley : Mitsubishi Eclipse 90-99
OEM Timing Belt Tensioner Adjuster : Mitsubishi Eclipse 90-92
OEM Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley : Mitsubishi Eclipse 90-94
OEM Balancer Tensioner Pulley: Mitsubishi Eclipse 90-94 (or do i not need this because im geting the eliminator kit?)


Also 1 big question if i put all this all on and im like 1 tooth off on the timing belt how bad would that mess up my motor?

And if i really wanted to (my friend said u couldnt) could i bring all this stuff to a shop and they will put them on? my freind said they wont because its not there parts? Thanks

you also might get lucky and one of the mechanics could do it on the side for you save you a little money !!

Front case gasket kit & crank seal, oil pump seal.Cam seals could also be leaking. And I would also replace the water pump

mine is a tooth off on the intake cam
(previous owner did the timing job)
and shes runnin like a champ.
forget about the b.s eliminator with the motor in.

Like Polyol suggested, replace the water pump as well as the oil seals for the crankshaft (front seal), oil pump shaft, front balance shaft (unless doing the BSE), cam seals. Since you will have to remove the valve cover in order to loosen the cam gear nuts you may as well replace the valve cover gasket too.

IF you do the BSE, then you do not need the BS belt tensioner pulley.

The person who will do this job for you has to drop the engine by removing the front, rear and top engine mounts to eliminate the balance shaft. You don't have to remove the engine

you don't have to remove the valve cover to replace the cam seals if your mechanic uses an air impact

This is true.

But you have to jack the engine up quite a bit to be able to get an impact wrench on the intake cam. At least that's how it is with a 2G.
