I have a 91 tsi awd, got it a few months ago and ive been through hell with this thing. i had the timeing belt slip about a month ago and it bent 6 of my valves so i took the head off and got all the valves replaced. while the head was getting valves i went ahead and bought both inner and outer timing belts, and both pullys plus the alt and power steering pump belts. so yesterday i finely got it all back to gather and it ran beautful. but i wake up this moring and try to start it and i hear the noise i dident want to hear which was the wine of a belt slip. so im here to ask if anyone has had the same problem or has some anwsers for me to fix this problem.

thank you

That's what i was asking.

Are you sure that it is the timing belt slipping. Did your car crap on you again.

im not sure i just know that noise so i stopped cranking im going to take it to my shop tomarrow but im just wondering why was it working so smoothly and i come home shut it off wake up the next morning and it has slipped

all i could think of is my buddy told me mabie the cams need replaced but im not sure if that could cause that.

well how would i go about checking them becuase i dident put no marks on them or is there marks from the factory becuase i never paid attion to them

and i dont have a ac belt never used it just a alt and power steering one

Just check how tight it is. if you grab it and twist it you should be able to twist it about 90*. At least that is what some say.

well i know there not lined up becuase this noise was the same noise i herd last time it slipped ive check the top and there lined up but it always slipps at the crank, and lets say i go check the alt belt and they are loose what would that tell me

It would tell you that maybe it is the cause of the squeal and not the timing belt. But as "black gst" said, you should check the timing marks.
