okay what would be the best way to test that out or how to do it sorry im fairly new to dsms so im sorry if im not getting this right away

alright i will give that a try and get back to you thanks for the help guys i will let you know if that makes a difference

I wouls check to make sure your timing marks are correct. That it is tdc and the marks are dead on.Then turn the engine over a few times to make sure everythinf lines back up,just to make sure it is correct.

For the injector can't you just remove it and see iif it spits ffuel?
Well that proves it's getting fuel but doesn't prove proper fuel pressure is being maintained in the fuel rail during and after engine is shut off (should maintain pressure for hours/days after shutdown). Doesn't sound like a stuck injector anyway as the engine would still run ok on the other cylinders, not quit.

Unfortunately in dsm's you have to insert a special fuel gauge adapter in the fuel line (usually on the input side of fuel rail) to hook up a fuel pressure gauge (we don't have a fuel system test port on the fuel rail to attach a pressure gauge like newer engines do). Maybe someone else here knows a easier/cheaper way. I wouldn't recommend removing the fuel line or fpr at 20 minutes after shutdown (and risking a fire) to see if gas will come shooting out!.

Another possibility if losing fuel pressure is the problem, and I'm not saying for sure that it is without a fuel pressure test, is a clogged fuel filter (besides a bad fuel pump).
