Hey guys,

I have a '91 Talon TSi. 550cc injectors, 245LPH pump, Schwitzer S-200 turbo, and FMIC. Previous owner said he dynoed the car at around 350 HP. Far as I know it has a stock clutch in it. The clutch is now slipping as I come into boost. Needless to say the car is parked until spring, not only because of the clutch, but because i only have summer tires for the car and it snows around here.

The short story is, I need some recommendations for aftermarket clutches that have gotten good reviews, leave some room in my HP ratings, and won't break the bank. Leave your opinions for me to peruse and I'll let yall know what I decide.

Thanks!!

Or you can go with the South Bend Clutch SS-Series pressure plate and the custom TZ/FE kevlar/feramic clutch disk that has been a proven success with our cars along with handling more heat/abuse than the OFE disk that uses an organic face along the pressure plate side.

Both are great options to choose from and are the same price.

Do some searching on my site for more information regarding these clutches if you are interested: http://tmzperformance.com/Mitsubishi%20SBC%20Clutch%20Kits.html

can a stock clutch hold up to that much power in an awd with out slipping?

I would go with an act2600 with street disk but it also depends on your power goal.

My 2g has a Centerforce and I love the pedal feel, especially in traffic.

Does the DXD setup have a softer pedal feel than the 2600? I hate the 2600 for my 70 mile a day commute in stop and go traffic in my VR-4. Just looking for another clutch that will leave me some room into the 400's without a super heavy pedal feel

Subject is beaten to death. Id say to check out either the Fidanza 3.2 or the 4.3

The South Bend Clutch pressure plates are rated as follows:
HD-Series: ~1850#
SS-Series: ~2150#
SS-X Series custom: ~2700#

The pedal pressure of the SS-Series pressure plate is very smooth and lighter than an ACT2600 pressure plate.

I DD my car everyday...When it is running.I have put lots of miles and hard launches on the act 2600 with street disk on my gst and I don't have a problem with it yet.It has quite a few miles and hard launches and i use nlts a lot.Its a good clutch but i hear use a OEM tob with ot cause act ones are junk.Idk if they are because I didn't want to find out so I put a OEM one back in.
