O.K., my ECU just crapped out on me. I pulled it out and looked at it and the damage on it is quite extensive. Basically it's in pretty bad shape. Now I need a new ECU, but here is what I'm not to sure about. I drive a 90 AWD turbo Talon with the viscous LSD it is also a 5spd. Now do I need to get an ECU from the same year turbo Talon or does it matter? And does the donor ECU need to come from a car that had an AWD with LSD? Or can I get an ECU from any 1st gen turbo DSM? LMK ASAP Please!!!! Thanks in advance.

You can use any manual 1990 turbo dsm ecu, the ecu doesn't know the car is awd. You can use a 91-94 ecu IF you swap a couple wires in the harness.

I have a 1990 ecu on ebay that would work for you. PM me if you want a link to the auction.

It's slightly more involved than swapping 6 and 14 if you want the tach to work correctly. The easiest way is to swap in a '91+ power transistor module to provide the ECU with the ignition pulse detect and let the old tach gate on the '90 coil pack drive the tach like shown on the DSMchips site. http://www.dsmchips.com/1990ecu.html

Either AWD or FWD ECU will work. There is no ECU changes for LSD or not.

So you need either s '90 Turbo ECU or modify your car to work with a later ECU.
