Ticking??? help me out please

So my engine is making this tickin noise non stop now when I idle. I would normally think that it was just my lifters warming up but it does it all the time and at low RPM's my engine kind of sputters but once it revs up past 2k rpm's it goes just fine. Sometimes when i put it into gear while i'm driving at about 3k rpms it drops to 2.5 while im still pushing the gas and im very confused.

I hope you can help me out. My oil pressure gauge reads normally and i checked my oil and the level is fine.

Oh yes and some of my coolant keeps dissapearing but there are no leaks at all where i park.

An exhaust leak makes a "tick" noise as well. It can be hard to differentiate at times. I had a tick that was driving me crazy and it turned out to be loose turbo to manifold bolts. The bolts were also rattling slightly and making noise which complicated the diagnosis.

Sorry I can't help out with the other symptoms, I just woke up and my brain isn't on yet.
 
I just recently did an oil change. It looks normal. Kinda golden. I use Mobil 1 synthetic 10w-30
 
Coolant is mixed with water and water evaporates(especially when hot), meaning it can dissappear but not to fast. If you have to re-fill it often then you have some way for it to leak. As for the ticking you should post a video to give us a better understanding of what it is.
 
I would except im flat broke. cant really afford a camera. I just bought this car and only had liabilty insurance on my GSX after i crashed it and had alot of cash invested in it. At one point yesterday my car was idling at 1.5k. i was freaked out
 
nope its not overheating at all. Its really strange. I moved it from the place that i usually park it and no fluid has leaked at all. (on the ground that is)
 
Hey all, this ticking topic sounds familiar. I'm not entirely sure its the same issue, but the car also idles funny. I changed out the lifters for the ones people refer to as 3G lifters and the knocking sound went away, but now its this ticking sound and rough idle thats getting me. It wont stay at idle. It wants to die or idle jerks around. I've been researching my problem and ran across this thread, maybe you guys can help me out. I have video:

Well since its coming from behind the head do you think it could be injector tick?
 
i changed my oil about 500 miles ago on 99 gst spyder and bought a fram oil filter the 6x oil protection, with synthetic oil mobile 1, i started it a couple of days ago and have ticking coming from the motor only at start up than it goes away for the most part. i was doing some research on it and read that i need to get the oem oil filter becasue it has Relief Valve Setting PSI, With Anti-Drain Valve, and read that people that had ticking in their gst switch there oil filter to the oem and the ticking went away, also read that its probably good to put valve medic in the engine. im going to buy oem tomorrow and with the valve medic Question: does anyone know if i messed up my lifters from not using the right filter that has the Relief Valve Setting PSI, With Anti-Drain Valve or is most likely fine as long as i switch the oil filters????
