just installed a tial 38mm wastegate on my car..my exhaust manifold is flanged for a tial 38mm i wanted to know when u mount the waste gate to the manifold flange do u need a gasket in between or the sealing ring seals it up ???....this wastegate is on my car right now and its leaking maybe i have to tighten the bolts tighter

I run a Tial also. I had a small leak as well I just cut up a gasket and threw it on. It works great and doesnt leak at all. I though about using silicone too, it would work.

Hey i just found out my manifold is about 3 years old and its flanged for a tial 35mm..so maybe the 38mm and the 35mm flange are different thats why its not sealing or are they the same??

the flange for the 35mm and the 38mm are the same. you need a gasket in between the wastegate and the manifold. although you can make your own gasket i would recommend a gasket with a fire ring that will last a long time and is reusable. check ebay for these gaskets.

I know this is an old thread but i am having a similar problem. I bought a wastegate off of ebay and now when i put it on the sealing ring doesnt seal the valve. there is gas leaking though the dump tube. what should i do
