Does anyone run a tial bov with a stock 14b if so do you have any problems with it.

You definetly don't need a Tial BOV if you're still runnin' the stocky 14b. A 50.5 mm release valve is for the big boys with the big boost. Not only that but they vent to the atmosphere so you would have to have either a GM MAS setup or a VPC or somethin' like that.

yup, i was thinking about this the other day too. the tial BOV's are mainly for high hp/boost applications, plus they vent.

basically not very efficient if you're running a street setup, especially with just a 14b

well I do have the gm maft so venting is not a problem, and I do plan on getting a 50 trim in spring, I was just wondering if there would be any problem with running the tial with the 14b now.

you'll probably get some nasty compressor surge, especially on stock boost levels. The TiAL isn't adjustable, and its got a pretty damn stiff spring. It MIGHT just flutter, but I think the 14b will surge. If your getting a new turbo though, no problem with f*cking up the one you have, right?!

well I don't want to f the one I have up thats the problem I wont be running stock boost probly around 17psi pump gas

just stick with a stock 1g bov until you get a big turbo and plan to run high boost.

The 1g will be plenty for 17psi. They tend to hold 20-25psi uncrushed. (if its in good shape).

kinds hard to stick with the 1g bov when your uicp is flanged for a tial.

I'm running one with my 16g at 20 psi I only get flutter if I low boost and snap the throttle close. Other than that it holds were as my 1g did'nt. Oh and if you want it to make cool venting sounds it does'nt. Very sleeper.

you can get a lighter spring for the tial if you want. I think there is a 7lb spring. or 9. Just give a call to a vendor.

compressor surge i doubt. pretty much all your ever gonna hear is a lot of fluttering. On my rs60 if i don't hit levels over 10 psi it just flutters. so if you don't mind i don't think there should be any problem.
