After being a DSM'er for this long I should not need to ask this question. I am actually kind of OMG to have to ask. I feel like less of an enthusiast. But anyways, my new turbo set-up involves a Tial 38mm and I have no idea how they are to be hooked up. By this, I do not mean bolted on and mounted to the car. I mean, what line runs to the fitting on the top of the gate and what line runs to the fitting on the side? Thanks guys. Please do not make fun even though I deserve it.

I had a vacumm line on the side nipple only and ran my EBC on the internal wastegate setting and it worked fine. I'm unsure on the extra steps needed to run a line to the top nipple.

What kind of BC are you using? I'm using a profec b and I use both nipples on the WG as instructed by Greddy on their page.

Here's a good example of what you might be looking for:

The line from the MBC is tee'd to the upper and lower fittings on the WG. Hope that helps. (Thanks DSMJim for letting me use this pic)

Acctually in a manual boost controller setup you will only use the bottom nipple and hook it up the same as you did to your stock turbo and wastegate. You would leave the top nipple un attached.

The top nipple is for a push pull configuration from an electronic boost controller. I run an HKS EVC which works the top and bottom, Profec B is the same as are other electronic boost controllers.

If you have a manual just leave the top open use the bottom as the gate and just hook it up like you had your manual boost controller hooked up before. Make sure you do not plug the top line on the gate for any reason.

Just to add some support, what you've described, using only the side-port with an mbc, is exactly what Tial says to do.

Oh, I forgot to include that tial also stated to me (via email) that when using an mbc the top port should be open to atmosphere.

Good deal. I am still on a MBC. TurboXS dual-stage. Not much of a controller considering the amount of money in other areas but ah well. Thanks guys.

Don't feel dumb about asking questions. Plenty of people LIVE on this site to answer them.

Now go get that bad boy hooked up! :thumb:

I am being held back by a few parts needed to complete the install. The almighty Allah that is Marco of Magnus Motorsports built my car ground up. He is currently in the process of building my exhaust manifold and dump-tube, and sending my intake pipe with it. The money has been transferred, I'm just waiting for the parts. He is so swamped right now that I'm lucky to be getting my stuff so quick. I'm ready to get this monster in though. On a side note, I am still F*****G FWD.
