My question is about my throttle body gasket. I recently bought a 1g throttle body for my 2g. Do I need a new gasket for it?? Also, do the 1g and 2g use the same gasket?? The reason I ask is because the 1g came with a gasket already...

Thanks, Ammar

Yes, it needs a gasket. I gave up on the stock gaskets and just use Ultra Copper RTV now. Works a heck of a lot better. Cheaper, too.

I second the RTV, but FYI they do use diff gaskets. Make sure that when the idiot at the parts store gets you a gasket that its the right one!

You can use the same gaskets but the one for the 1g is 8mm bigger so using smaller gaskets might not be a good idea.

Use the 1g gaskets for it or just use rtv. I used both the 1g gaskets and rtv. Oh and just to let you know i went from a 13.0@102 to a 12.9@107 with just this mod. I dont think the throttle body gave me 5mph trap probably air temp and other things but it did gain me some hp.

If it came with a gasket it should be bigger than the 2g one that's on the car.

The reason I ask is because I dont want to take my throttle body off then find out its different gaskets...then I wont have a car to go to the auto parts store.

But thanks for the replies everyone.

not sure if you have a dremel but I just ported mine and it works perfectly. I had a metal gasket which as far as I know comes on all of them.
