I'm just about done gathering parts for my upgrade. Now i'm stuck with what bov maybe best for my set up and future upgrades being a larger turbo. My options are sticking with a stock 1g, Tial or greddy.
My setup-
Ported Evo 3, Evo o2 housing, Ported 2g mani, Big FMIC with short route piping and blowthrough set up, Buschur 3” Down Pipe, No Cat, 3” VRS Catback w/ Magnaflow Muffler, Dejon Tool Intake, K&N Filter, GM MAF, MAFT, SAFC-2, KeyDriver Eprom Stage 3 Chip, FIC 650’s, Walbro 255, Aeromotive FPR, Hallman Evolution RX MBC, Autometer Z-series Boost, EGT, Volt Gauges, PocketLoger, ACT 2600, Short Throw Shifter, Full Brass Bushings.

Now I have an intake pipe with a return tube and one with out. I'm leaning on getting a tial which isn't recirculated. Or should i stick with the 1g and put on the intake pipe with a recirulation tube since they leak? or run a greddy or even an hks? Oh and sound makes no difference i'm just looking for something i won't have any problems with.
Thanks.

Personally, I liek the Apex, But if it were me with that setup id stay greddy.....jsut ease of adjustment in my case of liking greddy.

I've heard of a lot of 1G people having issues venting. Make sure you get a BOV with the option to recirculate just in case you have any issues.

thanks guys, i'll try to do some more searching. i originally planned on running a 1g bov, had an intake pipe made up with a recirc tube since i have a blow through set up, but figure i'd ask around to see if their are any better options.

i oculd be wrong, but wiht a blow thru you dont need to recirculate right? or am i wrong.....w the blow through it reads the air before hte BOV so its an accurate reading....unlike the stock that reads it iwth the air already in there from the recirculating part

Having the blow through setup you really can do whatever you want! The recirc would be a more efficient design, but by no means is it enough air to matter much... How did it feel when you first setup the MAFT and MAF? I'm thinking of doing that next...

temfate- actually i haven't run this set up. i've gone though so many options when i was gathering parts. as my car sits now i have a ported 14b, ported o2 and 2g mani with a stage 2 keydriver and 3" turbo back. my turbo is about blown so i started ordering new parts. which i've listed. i found a new fmic that i can run a blowthrough with and i'm searching my bov options as thats last on the list.
i'm most likely looking to put the blowthrough on my fathers 1g, and trying the 1g bov with the recirc intake tube i had made from dejon tool. i'd pair that up with dsmotorsport budget fmic and make up a 2.5" exhuast and see what's left in his 14b. (my brother and i have a couple dsm's so pops picked one up and we just do the work, LOL)
lando, i think i'm going to shoot for a Tial, i've heard a lot of good things about them but just wanted to get some other opinions.
and i know with a blow though you don't need to recirc, but a 1g bov leaks so thats why i was going to recirc.

I was under the impression that the 1g BOV doesn't leak until fairly high ~25/26?? Is that incorrect? I know the 2g's leak if taken past 15...

With a blow thru....TIAL.
So true...
Definately bombass according to anyone that has ever installed it.

The 1g leaks at about 20-22 once it's crushed I think.
The 2g leaks at like... 12...:(

hm, well i guess i miss read some info. well either way i plan on keeping some parts and eventually stepping up the turbo. i'm really looking to get into tuning and doing things in stages. i want to become a good driver on the track and be able to adjust things as needed. i've heard a lot about tials bov's in the past so i'm going to nab one of these. by next week i should have everything i need and then pull the motor for a 2nd time and go over everything and put in everything i've picked up.
thanks guys and now i know a bit more about the 1g bov.
oh anyone know the best place to nab a tial blow off valve? i'm sure i'll need to find a flange as well.

Few things here. The blow through has to read the air AFTER the BOV for it to allow venting.

Recirculating is still a fairly good idea as you can use some of the energy spent moving the air in the first place to keep the turbo spooled during shifts.

Other than that go wild...

the blow through set up i'm going with has the maf mounted between the bov and tb. I know recirculating is a good idea but i think i'll be ok.

Definitely get it from Dejon Tool, they have the cheapest price I've seen and will not charge to have the flange put on the blow through if i read it right :thumb:
