those of you who are using a dyi intake

Hey everyone,, to those of you who made an intake yourself, like out of pvc or what not.

on a 14b it needs a 3" to 2" coupler,, (if you use the 3 inch pipe, which i am)

im using a cromed 3inch alumium pipe that i have,,
the problem im having is fitting the coupler in,, it wont clear the vac line for the wastegate actulater??
how have you guys got this to fit in? some way to reroute something here?

I bent mine. It has to be done carefully so it doesnt crack. Just bend it a little at the base of the nipple, then put another slight bend a little higher up, and another bend higher than that. Keep going until it clears, and make sure the nipple doesn't kink- it needs to have unrestricted airflow for the wastegate to work right.

I also trimmed the reducer fitting where the wastegate hose hits it.

Thanx alot! big help! will deffinitly go that route,, think ill put my heat gun to it though,, it's soooo freakin cold here in pa, i may snap it off if i try it without heat. Another thought, anyone cut the stock nipple off and tap it for a short 90 degree elbo?
