i want to tint my eclipses windows. the state law here in Indiana is 30% sides and back..and as1.. so ive been looking at pictures of both 20% and 30% and decided that 20% would look better. im still debating because i dont want a ticket or to scrape my tint off when i get pulled over for too dark of tint. i dont know but ive read on some other forums that cops will pull u over for dark tint but i was wondering if they will even notice and will they pull me over for the 10% difference? three of my friends got theres tinted 20% that live near me, im just a little worried if i get mine 20% then ill be the one pulled over and have to scrape it off haha.
any suggestions will be helpful

On a old car of mine i had 5% back windows and 20% front.

I drove with my tints for 3 years before i got pulled over for it... and only reason i got the ticket was because the cop couldnt give me a ticket for anything else.

And im sure your back window plus the little triangles can be ANY tint. Just not the 2 main front.

Either way, get the 20

Yeah I would go with the 20 and if you ever get pulled over just roll your windows down.

Washington state law is 35% and I have had 20% for two and a half years on my gsx and my old gs, Ive never been pulled over for tint but have gotten a comment after being pulled over for something else, even then he didnt write a ticket though so I would say 20% for sure.

In Michigan you can have ANY TINT in the back windows. Just the driver and passenger front windows are not allowed to be tinted. Cops dont care here to much though, especially with something like 20%, ### they can still see thru it.

Iowa law is 70%, which is totally rediculous becuase that is barely noticeable. I had a talon with 5% all the way around and got pulled over a dozen times or so but only got a ticket once that was 90$, that was only after having the car for over a year and a half. On my eclipse that i got last winter I put 15% and made it all the way until last week... The ticket was $171.00 !!!!!! My speeding ticket of 70 in a 35 wasn't even that much. Makes ZERO sense. But If your law allows 30, go ahead and go for the 20.

There is really not too much difference between 20% and 30%, but cops usually have a little card that shows the different darkness levels, so you may still get a ticket with the 20%. I would go with 30% just to be safe.

I used to run 35% front, 5% rear on my protege until I got a ticket for the front (nothing is allowed in the front here in CA) and am now running 50% front, 35% rear.

Will probably go 70% all around with the Galant

I couldn't imagine having a modded car and living in california. PITA

Yeah pretty much LOL, but I'll take that trade off and not have to deal with snow, salted roads and the rust they cause, tornados, hurricanes, etc.

I'll have to find a friendly smog place one I get my galant running.

yeah i dont see how a cop can pull you over because he could tell the difference between 20 and 30 when your driving by

Probably cause is all he needs. If he even thinks it might be too dark, he can pull you over. If he's wrong, no loss to him, but if he's right, then that sucks for you.

You probably won't notice the 10% difference anyways, so why take the chance?

15% in the back and 30% in the front. Never had a problem with cops saying anything about the front 2 windows, usually they do not care. If your not lucky, you might get busted for it, but I don't hear it happening too often.

Get 20% like Tsi kid said it'll look better. I drove around with 20 for more then a year(in ca) and only got pulled over once for something unrelated and the cop just gave me a warning about the tint.

There is going to almost be no difference with 20-30. I have 35 on my front windows and they look limo from some angles and clear from others(also have limo on quarter windows and rear). Never get harassed by cops and I'm in so cal.

If you go with a dark tint you will hate it at night. I would go with 30+.

I had 20% on my old Talon, I only got pulled over for it once. But I only drove it once every other week on the summer. I also put 20% on my old 98 Prelude before I sold it to my sister a year and a half ago. My sis uses it for a DD and has only been pulled over for it once. I say go for it, go big or go home.

In arizona you can have limo tint every where execpt the drivers side and windshield :thumb:
So I'm doing full limo everywhere and if I get pulled over both the windows are going down and I'm saying I blew the fuse to roll them up haha.

I'm also doing this on my new volvo wagon (murdered out style).

I tried 30% before, it was too light so I got 20%, that was too light so I stuck with 5%. I say go with 20%, it's probably not likely that you're going to get pulled over. I never did.

I took the "windows won't roll up" a step further and actually wired in a switch and inline fuse in the fuse panel of my 03 Cavalier so I can make it believable haha. So many pissed off cops.

3% on back windows, 20% on fronts.
