Has anyone JUST tinted their 1/4 window panels? It would seem easy to remove them and tinting such a small area seems easy enough.

Or would it be easier to just have a tint shop do it for me?

BTW this is for a 1ga

"Remove"?

Well, I'm not the one to ask. My attempt at window tinting was one of the biggest pissers I've ever tried. And I'm not all that much of a klutz.

If only I could _talk_ them on.....

I thought about doing it myself, but then I looked at all the cars driving around with bubble tint on their rear quarters so I went to the local tint shop and they gave me a pretty reasonable price. I paid $240 to have the rear quarters and the side windows done with 15% mirror tint. It was like $175 for 15% black. I'd leave it to the professionals. Besides, if they screw it up, it's under warranty (if they have a warranty). Find a place that includes a lifetime warranty with the tint, especially if you plan on doing the rear window with the defrost strips.

unless your experienced with glass and urethane glue, DO NOT remove the rear quarters. i have gone to a couple of junk yards to pull these windows, and they are extremely fragile. your tlaking about 10 year old glass and very hard glue. the best bet is to let the professionals tint the windows, because if anything goes wrong, they have to fix it. also, most tinting shops have a lifetime warrenty against bubbles and scratches.
