Hey guys, I recently had a conversation with someone I know, who works for one of the larger after-market turbocharger companies and he gave me this very informational document that has great suggestions on how a unit would be properly set-up on applications. I figured I would just share it with the community, and I would prefer to leave the manufacture anonymous at this time. It is his and my hope that this will help eliminate basic question regarding proper turbo installation. Please share with all of your friends and re-post as you see fit as it has a lot of great information in it!

Not bad, but the paragraph (well, sentence) about coolant is rather general and poor in my opinion. Not all water-cooled turbos require coolant just because the ports are present....the last few 16G's I installed have no coolant going to them and every single one is still operating to this day on daily-driven cars.

Ball bearing turbos are another story- they get such little oil that coolant is required to prevent overheating the cartridge and causing premature bearing/race damage.

On the flip side of what you said, not all BB turbos are water cooled either.
Only the ones that are worth having...this photo will tell you exactly why. ;)

I always forget you are a PTE turbo hatter, even though out perform time after time after time after time!!!

Also you do realized that the center section cost a waping $160 to replace.

PS Garrett openly admits that they have a inferior bearing design that requires the revision of water to cool it

also you now that web site you keep trying to toss in my face? Did you know in fact that website has made these accusations based on information that predates current manufacture process? PTE is the manufacture for every component in there units to date.
