thermostat issues, which one 2g or 1g?

I have a 6 bolt in my 2g eclipse gsx. i'm replacing the thermostat. which gen should i get? anyone have a pic of a 1g compared to a 2g? i'm getting the OEM one either way. how can you tell the difference in head?

1G Thermostat on the right, 2G thermostat on the left.

If you have a 1g head, then you have a 1g thermo housing so you'd need a 1g thermostat. If you have a 2g head then you have a 2g thermo housing so you'd need a 2g thermostat.

Hello guys, i am at the end of a 1g swap in my 97 clipse, see how your 1st gen thermo housing has a rad cap at the top? look at mine, does anyone know where i can get a 1st gen thermo housing with a rad cap? my engine is from japan, im hoping thats why it came with that housing.

all 1g motors should have the rad cap on the housing, without that where do you add your coolant

rosst beef, just told me that since it came from japan, and in japan they have the rad cap on the rad itself, man now im in a jam... any suggestions fellas, i even called pete from magnus, those guys where awsome, they sent , me the harness so i didnt have to solder any wires..
