The Talon Goes Under The Knife

Since I'm moving across the country in a month or so I decided I really need to do some maintenance on my Talon. Of course, we all know how that goes with a DSM, you think to yourself, well...while I've got that off I can replace or upgrade this....Needless to say there's some nice upgrades going in (keep in mind the car is stock).

First and foremost is a new timing belt.

I thought to myself well I'm in there so I might as well pull the balance shafts. There's a new front crank seal and rear main seal to boot.

Also a new harmonic balancer and accessory belts.

I'll have to pull the motor for this job so now is as any to do a clutch job.
I bought a used ACT 2600 Pressure plate, new ACT street disc, new Fidanza flywheel, new OEM master and slave cylinders and an SS clutch line plus the TOB, pivot ball and fork.

I'm tired of my motor ticking so I bought some 3G lifters.

I thought to myself, well I'm in there anyways so let's do some cams. I scored a used set of HKS 272s.

My motor mounts are starting to get worn so I bought some Prothanes.

I also decided to put in some APRs in preparation.....

For my new turbo. It's just a 14B but it will be better then the T25.

Install kit.

I also found a nice crack in my exhaust manifold so I grabbed a tubular one, new OEM studs and a 4 layer gasket.

Lastly, I great deal on this brand new.

ECM Link V3 Lite.

She goes under the knife on Sunday thanks to a local DSMer. I'll be without her for a week, can't wait to get her back!

Dang that is a lot of cash to spend, but sick. Have fun and good luck with the mods and install. Take your time, do it right once and dont worry about doing it again. Your car is gona run great after all this. (Oh but i would recommend some gauges if you dont have already, boost oil pressure, and wideband at least)

I shouldn't say the car is stock, it's got an O2 dump, full Megan Race Turbo Back, AEM Tru Boost and wide band, Prosport oil pressure and temp gauge, fuel pressure gauge, Dakota Digital Water Temp gauge and an Extreme PSI Intake. It's also lowered on something...no clue what.

I just did almost the same stuff to my Talon, minus the 3g lifters. You are gonna be so happy. Kudos to you and good luck with the surgery!

Over $1000CND in OEM parts.
Actual cost with the extras was about $2500CND, give or take.
