I've owned 4 DSMs, all 2Gs, none have crankedwalked, 2 98 GS-Ts, 2 95 GSXs, Mileages are on each one: 65k, 75k, 85k, 125k, The highest mileage one is my daily. I hope it holds up to as many mileage as that spyder your looking into getting.

Lately I've seen DSMs shoot up in price a little bit. But if you are patient you should be able to get lower than blue book on people who don't know what DSM means, and they own either a GS-T or GSX.

well to help easy your mind i bought my 2g when it had 79k or so miles.....not long after that when i made turns and pressed the clutch in t would stick to the floor so i would just kick it back up and keep going.....crankwalk right???....128k miles and no cankwalk and doesnt even sick any more.....its like my car had cancer and cured its self LOL....but go with the unmodded and test it like said above

LOL.. i bought my GSX for 7000 wid 99,998 miles. I made it 100,000 on the test drive.

2 weeks later... guess what clutch sticks to the ground and found out it was crank walk.

anyways, get the first one. pretty good price, considering how much the DSM prices went up in the past few months.

$5000 is what someone in my area would pay for a clean 1g FWD.

Oh you guys are killing me. Crankwalk is my greatest fear! I'd hate to drop $5000+ on a DSM only to have it crank walk a month later.

As for an AWD model, thats not what I'm looking for. I got a 90 AWD. The Spyder can always be converted to AWD, its been done here and I know the guys who did it. In fact, helped them do it. I heard its actually harder to convert the coupe then the vert.

There are also 2, 240SX I'm looking at this weekend too. One is a 90 (KA24E:notgood: ) and the other is a 92 (KA24DE :thumb: ). Either way, the KA will be swapped out for a SR further down the line. Nither has the LSD:notgood: but are going for about $3500 less the Eclipse above:thumb:

I noticed that immediately also. It's just missing the left exhaust tip.

I can't really tell from the pics, but does the first gs-t have a non-turbo exhaust? Or is it that it only has 1 of the 2 chrome tips it should have for a stock turbo exhaust? WTF

crankwalk is over rated man dont sweat it. ive had 3 2g DSMs now and never had a problem, 2 95;s and one 97. rebuilt one motor and it never walked in the year i had it and the other two had over 100,000 miles on them, no problems. 4,500 is a great deal for that car man, go for it!

woooow small world. LOL your location is Ft. Belvoir - my dad works on base and I've worked right off base for an Army contractor for the past two summers. And that Spyder with the VT sticker on the window lives in my apartment complex here at shool. That car is like a 1 minute walk away from my back door haha. Do you know if he's selling those wheels separate since he's got a pic of the 6-spokes and the stock 5-spokes?

LOL did you buy it? If so congrats! You take the stockers I'll take the six spokes. I'm walking over there right now to see what condition the wheels are in from up close.

man I walked over there in the cold and his car isn't there, must not be home. oh well

if the motors make it to 100k+ and havent walked, youre pretty much good to go. from what ive seen, its usually the 20-50k range with hard drivers, and mostly 95-96 fwd's.

besides, getting the cwalk is just an excuse to drop in a built 2.3/2.4 6bolt.

hey man can you give me some contact info for this guy with the spyder? a name & phone number or email? thanks, I want to get in touch with him about those wheels.

LOL pick up the hard top that is a steal. Especially in the VA area. I saw that deal and even considered myself, but ive already got my track whore, I need a 4 door daily driver.

Good luck man! Personally I would wait for a 2g turbo spyder! thats stock of course.

There is a guy selling a 98 GST and a 95 TSI for 4000 about 3 and a half hours from you. Hes only 15 minutes or so from me. The 98 needs motor and tranny, but the 95 has motor tranny and all awd conversion parts AND hes giving a 6 bolt. If I wernt in college... anyways Heres the link... http://www.dsmtuners.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=59204&cat=4

AHH i bought the fwd trans thats in my car right now from that guy less than a month ago. Never seen the car in person, but if his car's anything like the trans i got off of em, id buy it :thumb:

The other one I found is nice, but more expensive and already modded (which I don't like).

1998 Eclipse GS-T Spyder 5-speed.
A little less then 153,000 on the clock.
Not as clean, but nice
Asking $7000.
