if the motors make it to 100k+ and havent walked, youre pretty much good to go. from what ive seen, its usually the 20-50k range with hard drivers, and mostly 95-96 fwd's.

besides, getting the cwalk is just an excuse to drop in a built 2.3/2.4 6bolt.

Mileage has nothing to do with crankwalk. The car could walk at 1000 miles, or 201,000 miles. I wouldn't worry too much about it. You should know the possibilities of the 2g's walking before you buy one:p

yeah...not that it matters much Sean...but both of MY 2g's had signifigant thrust play when I finally just quit messing with "crankwalk" plagued 7 bolts and built a quality 6 bolt. It is funny now that I think about it...they both died at about 105-112,000 miles..

Dude for what your willing to spend....$5000...why not just pick out your 2G AWD with a year or so of measily payments...and just quit joking around?

I happen to know a guy wanting to sell a 2g AWD...but its not cheap:toobad:

yeah don't get those rims I like those on MY car better!!!!

I'm a longtime member, finally ready to sell the DSM. Here is where it stands..... 1995 GS,173k, 5 speed, runs well (right now). I live in the midwest, how much do you estimate I could sell it for?

I've been looking at the IS300 and Acura RSX type S :|

THats high mileage...but on the forums...2500-3K unmolested and locally start at 4500 but entertain offers. Goodluck and....Is300:thumb:

Eh i'd say about 2500 at most. I pick the rsx.

Always start higher than you expect to get...that way, when you be nice and "lower" the price for unsuspecting buyers...they think they are getting a deal, and you are getting what you want

I was thinking of asking 2500. The car looks great, it's just the mileage is too high. I've added up all my repair bills over the years including tires and it totals about 4,000. I'm thinking it's time to sell "bump"

I haven't finalized my decision on what car i'm searching for. I need to get out and test drive. The IS300 looks great and it's Lexus, but the insurance is higher than normal, gas mileage sucks and it needs premium. I think the RSX needs Premium too?

Dont get the IS......i had an 05 for less than 3 months and it sucked. The car is super small, gas mileage sucks, insurance is way too high and parts are ridiculous. The only upside to it is a 2jz is pretty much a direct bolt in :>.

Get the RSx...atleast then you'll have vee-tak

Ask for 3500, so that if some low baller comes along and offers to knock it down 1000, you'll both be happy.

You guys are crazy to think a 95 GS can sell for 4500. I was just looking at two 2g DSMS Both turbo, newer, one even selling for comparable price.
97 GS-T 100% stock, asking for $5000. Sold for that
98 GS-T Spyder, heavily modified, asking $7000, came down to $6000. Still for sale.

True but theres always that person who knows nothing of DSMTuners or how to mod or even the models that vary between...they just know ECLIPSE and probably think the Talon is a "fake" eclipse and a laser....whats that. Point is, 4500 for an eclipse not knowing the history and the variations of the sytling/motor and such will seem like a plausible deal. I say take the chance at 4500 in your local paper then, if no one comes calling lower it. Goodluck

I paid 4500 for it four years ago with 70k less mileage.

Another topic I'd like to bring up: Selling points.

The look of the car is its advantage. But, I have a windshield washer fluid warning light that won't go away, and everyone thinks it's coolant.
My A/C doesn't work, even when it did I never used it.
My airbag is like popping out of it's socket. (I should explain: passenger's side airbag cover thing is peeling up on one corner; as far as I know it has never gone off)
My clutch squeaks sometimes aswell as belts.

These are all things that might scare potential customers, and I'm not sure how to fix the warning light, or how much freon is (if that's even the problem).

Your choice, but I say start high...also theres 2 plugs on the washer reservior I believe one is the fluid lever sensor...Just unplug it. Goodluck again.

I roam sellers ads of MANY MANY websites in my area. I always use a combination of edmunds and kbb websites to find a reasonable price for a car. If the asking price is retardly high, I don't even bother. I don't call, email, nothing. I don't like stupid games people play when trying to sell a car. I sold my 93 GS with 90 6-bolt turbo conversion for $1300. If someone wanted to negotiate I simply said no. If they walked away, then I know they were never serious to begin with, because that was a VERY reasonable price for the car.

You ask to high and you will scare away serious buyers, while low ballers and joy riders will come see the car all day long.

ill help settle this...kbb says about 2710 in good condition, 2250 in fair...ask 3500. that should be enough to bring in people who actually know a little about DSMs and also attract people who dont have a clue. good luck

Don't worry about the cost of premium, i had a thrashed 1g poorly taken care of and put some injector cleaner in it and started using premium.

i believe EVERYONE should use premium, the difference in price isn't really that great when you think about the fact that the higher octane burns more efficiently so you would get more miles of it int he end vs. saving a couple bucks at the pump but filling up 2-3 days sooner.

IS300 VS RSX??? i say GET AN EEEEVVOOOO!!!! ;)

Premium fuels don't burn more efficiently that regular. Octane is a resistance to detonation.
