my friends friend is selling a 2g talon AWD Turbo for $600. it doesnt have alot of pull, he said its the turbo, he not building any boost. when i test drove it it was making a weird banging noise REALLY FAST (not engine block related)
can i assume it needs a new turbo or rebuilt?
and does it sound like a decent deal?
he needs the car gone tmrw (thursday) or hes scrapping it.
everything is in working condition, shifts great, clutch less than 1000miles old. body in great condition.
should i take the risk and buy it? or should i let my brother buy it?
but ya I would jump on it if I came across it local.Ive been looking for an auto ive even passed up some nice cars because they are manual. I spoke with a guy who was driving a low 9 second Talon running 136 thru the traps at the Import VS Domestic shootout at the local strip and he told me under know circumstances should I buy a manual if I wanted to be serious about drag racing. I also talked with three other DSM drivers one with an auto and they all agreed auto is better for drag racing period. In fact the guy with the 9 second car called himself stupid for not running an auto but added he liked doing things the hard way. Also check out this link and see for yourself the times you can do with a auto and compare them to the manuals DSM 1/4 Mile Times - Automatic. I think you will see that an auto is just as good as a manual in a drag race setting even more so if your running bracket class.
. I get questioned all the time about why I would choose an auto over a stick so im used to it. I'm just trying to spread the auto gospel to all the
DSM
faithful
. I do agree though that manual transmissions are more fun to play with. But im not looking to play im looking to win
I basically was offered a lower amount of money and a free paint job on a large full size truck that they need to paint for me. I declined and they offered me even more money so I sold the sucker right there on the spot. 2 grand and a 2 tone paint job with clear coat for my Dodge truck. I put a TON of work into that car so it's nice to see them continue making the car nice. It's in the middle of a black paint job and they already have the new rims and tires waiting for it. As long as you can do your own work on these cars they are a pretty good investment. I had all my neighbors, friends and mechanics around town asking me what I wanted to sell it for. People need cheap good mpg cars bad.
