agreed to much but from the pics it looks pretty clean but ive seen 2g awds go for 2500 lately

Thats way too much. Especially for a auto shell. Take your time, don't rush it, if your be you can pick up a clean shell for 500 or less. Keep searching.

I've tried carsoup, ebay, craig'slist, and I have no "local" DSM trader thing. I'm pretty much stuck with nothing but hopes and dreams. DANG-IT I HATE Minnesota right now!

Just keep looking, you said your 14. Still got some years before you should find the car you want. Don't rush into it.

Keep looking you have plenty of time to find the perfect ride. I only gave $1800 for my 1g TSI awd running with only a few cosmitic defects.

Kinda? If its got no ic piping at all, have him hook the intake to the throttle body elbow with the maf and it will run. 10 dollars for a gallon of advance auto brand oil, go give it hell. Plus it looks like doo-doo.

Not to mention, your going to have some extra $$ in shipping that back to PA from NJ. Need to find something running so you can enjoy the drive home in it......It's always one of my favorite parts of getting a new ride :D

Problem is, I'm planning on doing some work. Well........ a years worth of work......

Look out of state - you'd be surprised how cheap these things are in different regions of the US. If you're willing to drive a ways to find the perfect one you'd be surprised how much you'll save!

If you have the time and money to put a new engine or just want a good prdject car you can buy it if you want to. But like said before if it don't start and he won't let you hook up the intake to the throttle body then it's not worth your time or money.

Yeah I mean why would you mention that it 'needs oil' thats stupid, just put some oil in it, is he that broke? and one picture of the car? I see this too often, when you have a camera is it really that hard to snap more than one picture so people can get a good idea of what the car really looks like

i wouldnt go for it, if it only needed oil you would of put it in it and sold it for more money .

It isn't a terrible car to start with. I wouldn't go over 1,000 for just a shell but that is just me. On a side note. I wanted to get an Automatic you can brake boost, and you can launch with out shocking the shit out of the drive train. Less shock=more longevity for the entire drivetrain. There are cheap DSM's around there was one 2 months ago in Wilkes-Barre, PA at a little car lot with a blown trans for 800. It was a 96 Talon awd. Good luck!

This website you can only put on one photo for each ad. He sent me more pics.

First let me start off by saying I hate craigslist. Then let me move on to hating the kid that owns this car. It IS A 98, however he converted it to a 97-99. It has a super rare interior which he pieced together from his tan interior and the black interior from the car he found at the junkyard...Then he mod'd the tires....With those Low Pro's YO! Then the solution to getting the car on the road was to put an I/C on, mount the bumper no piping and then what?? The best part is the car doesn't need 'some' oil. If you want the car you need to 'DUMP some' oil into it. Anything which needs oil DUMPED in, is in BADDDD shape. I'd say the rings never seated, the turbo is blown, or theres a serious leak somewhere else in the system. If you want to throw a new engine, or a rebuild at that car for 2300 he has a decent amount of parts. I would go berate the kid a little...Maybe leave with it for 1,500.00
