That is a very non-descriptive ad. Does not say anything at all about the car. My words of wisdom if you may...Don't be impatient about buying a car. You seem to have your mind set on a DSM, so half the search is over. Now, you just have to find the right one. Set a budget on what you are willing to spend, also factoring in anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to possibly $1000 more for maintenance. Start looking around, don't jump on the first , cheapest car you see. Check the mileage, the compression, rust, shape it is in, what is needed, will it pass inspection/emissions, carfax...etc... Take your time.

it looks mint, and bert an inspection? what do you think this is? drive it around the block nail the gas other then that your not buying a 2009 eclipse. your buying a 92. and even if it has a bunch of problems, what you cant sit there and be like well since i found this this and this during my bazillion point useless inspection im only gonna offer you 100 bucks. those are the kind of people that i usually kick out and dont let them buy a car from me[/QUO

why drop $2000 on a '92 car, if when you go to get insurance they make you have an inspection before you can be insured, only to find out the car needs $5000 in repairs? I dont know about the states but here in Alberta you have to have an inspedction for anything older than 10 years. So why buy it without knowing what is wrong? You can get a broken down Talon needing repairs for waaay cheaper than $2000

Thats exactly what im worried about, I trade my camaro which is absolutely fine, for a talon only to find out the talon needs such and such amounts of repairs just to make it road worthy. I mean I could do all the repairs myself at my garage i work at, but who wants to do all that? And the guy doesnt even have the car registered so i really couldnt LEGALLY test drive it around town. I dont know i think im steerin clear of this one and hopin to find a better one.

yeah, keep the 'maro for sure. add a cam and a lil head work and those LT-1's are nice lil engines.
besides that guy is obviously jerking your chain

That 1g looks pretty clean, but i wouldn't trade the z-28 straight up for it. You could sell your camero for whats its worth and then buy a dsm. I mean you know your car better then anyone else, and its in good running condition.

Know this 90% of the time a dsm that is for sale is being given up for a reason which the buyer would find out about shortly after purchase. Don't buy the first dsm you come by, unless its that good.

That's another reason to hold off on this trade. There are quite a few nice examples out there. The best one's to get are the one's with receipts for all the mods and maintenence performed. Your Camaro looks pretty good and it would be a shame to trade for a lesser car.

Yeah, I have looked at about........... Well the 1993 Eclipse was sold for scrap, 1996 Eclipse RS for $700 had like 2xx,xxx miles, and this blue one I have seen but never got up close untill Sunday, it doesn't look good, IDK why I even want it. I'm starting to lower my standerds because there isn't much around. There is a flatblack STRIPPED unknown year Eclipse was forsale, no idea now. There is ONE that is White BLITZ body kit half off. Big rims.... Sell the rims and body kit..... IDK I'm rambeling now. I have to check the White one out....

Thanks for the help guys. I guess DSM isn't going to work for me..... DAMNIT!!!:barf::banghead::banghead:

i looked for over year to find one. i picked mine up for ~600 not runing, got it running, and it skipped timing 2 days later. bent the valves ect. it should be running again soon, i hope.

Your 14, save some more money up and buy a clean turbo dsm. If you save up enough get a 1g awd.

Maybe in another year, you would have saved up enough to buy a clean one work on it and by the time your 16 it would be ready. Don't buy junk believe me you will regret it. Just be patient young guy.

+1

No need to rush into anything, you aren't even close to be finished highschool, and you don't want to dump all your money into a non-running car. Work as much as you can for the next year or so, and save up so you can buy at least a semi-decent turbo, 2g or 1g or whatever.

1700 for an RS with issues is too much. I just picked up a 97 GS that only needed a clutch and front bumper for $1200 to use as a parts car.

Hold on and wait for a better deal. That 1G looks like a POS bucket. Thats a stock turbo or a 16G at the most, stock intake, that motor doesn't look rebuilt. Everyone has a rebuilt engine when it comes to selling a car. The body on the 1g looks great though, unless you already have a nice motor and trans to go in, I wouldn't bother, If anything I'd offer him $900 in one dollar bills in a brown paper bag and say take it or leave it. Keep the maro (I'm not a big fan of em but, I can definitely say that its better than that 1G), it could be a nice backup car, and $900 for that 1g is generous, but it's gotta be one dollar bills.

I finally found someone on a dsm site that has a Camaro! Yea, you'd better not get rid of your Camaro. Especially not for that deal, an LT1 6 speed camaro is a lot better than a Talon tsi. The Camaro is a sports car, a muscle car, and they sound so much better too. Sorry guys, that's just how I feel.

ROFL "BETTER"... thats the funniest thing i heard today(no offense to you). :dsm: :laser: :talon:

Listen to what these guys are saying. You may be a little anxious right now but, you should take it easy and save some cash over the summer while you continue to look. When you get more money, you'll have more DSM's to choose from. You'll be able to get a nice looking, great running DSM. I recommend doing it right the first time. I'd recommend a turbo AWD or atleast a turbo FWD. If you get a non-turbo, you may want a turbo version later. These cars are pretty old now so, sometimes, you can find a turbo version for about the same price as a non-turbo.

By the way...That $1700 can get you a decent turbo 1g in some areas. I bought a 1994 FWD turbo Eclipse with a 16g turbo, exhaust, Eibach springs, 17's and a few other mods for $1750 back in 2008. Just keep looking. This site is the perfect place for advice about DSM's. Keep us updated on your progress and good luck.

I bought mine out of a field for $300 and got it running in less than a year. Just look around and you will find one. Good luck:thumb:

Yea me too! Except I paid 1k for mine.

No WAY, I think that's a bad deal IMO. Doesn't sound like it's in good shape and you could get one in a lot better shape for that price. I personally would wait. Hard to do when your 14 though ha, I know how it was for me

i got lucky with mine. it was an action car. every time there is a dsm for sale in my area my buddy knows about it.
