I just bought my friends manual 95 Eclipse GS, it has 100,000 miles on it, I was wondering if it is worth getting a turbo and doing anything else to it. And about how much longer do you think I would get out of the car?
Any suggestions what to do would be great.

I've seen guys run a turbo on a 2GNT with over 150K on the clock. Cars are different. I recommend a rebuild with the car if you're going to turbo it with that many miles on it.

Some will say turbo it, some will say sell it and buy a factory turbo. Read up on the subject and choose for yourself Driving with boost is a lot more fun.

You would be better served to buy a gst or gsx that messing with that one. Biggest problem is that the N/T 2.0 4G63 motors do not have the oil sprayers that cool the underside of the pistons. You can have them installed, but with the wiring and ecu upgrades you have to do, you would be better off finding a wrecked tsi or gst and swapping all the stuff you need into yours. wiring harness, motor, trans and ecu.

You can get a good turbo kit for around $3000.The engines can handle between 9-10 PSI on stock internals.By the way.The 95 GS has a 420A engine in it.

I want to build a realy fast car to challenge my dads car, a 70' Firebird, and I want it to out run it bad. They say it has some mods,what kind im not sure, but they want $3,500 for it. Is that fair? Because I dont know. And it seams to be hard to find body kits for any Eclipse that is under the year 1997. Why is that, and can you help me find a place that sells them? I am Mostly about speed, but I want it to have that import sporty look also . Please help!! Im new in the wole car thing as it is, so please help.

I would not pay $3500 for an n/t 1G, nor would I buy an n/t (*putting on flame retardant suit*) . Keep looking thats way too much $ for that car. There are some bodykits (unfortunately IMO) for the 1G. I am sure others here could give you the links. If you are into speed on a budget buy a 1G turbo FWD/ AWD.

Buy a turbo...my friend just picked up a TSi AWD for $2000. Body and motor are perfect, tranny needs a little work. I wouldn't pay $3500 for a turbo 91 much less a non turbo. Although Talon's have less resale.

I just got a '92 Talon TSi AWD for only $1600...130,000 miles but it runs great and the only thing I'll need anytime soon is a new clutch but hey I was planning on buying a racing clutch anyways

By far you have to get a Turbo Talon to bet your dad. Try to get one that isn't trashed so you have to get new turbos, new engine, or new clutch. But depending on how your dads car is modified. A turbo AWD Talon should beat him good

Yeah...I got very lucky. It was previously owned by a female who "outgrew" the car (in other words she gained weight and the small car was uncomfortable for her). She was pretty desperate and had it originally listed for $2000 which would still be a good deal but I have my ways hehe.

I have owned 3 mustangs since I was 16, I am now 19. My buddy got a DSM 1g and I think they are awesome. I have been searching these boards for a couple of days and have some questions for you. There is a guy up the street that has a 1g Talon TSI. I am not sure of the year, it is faded black paint job with the grey trim along the bottom, one head light is stuck in the "up" position because it looks like he hit something. Also right behind the drivers door there is a big dent. It looks kinda rough. It has some 16" aftermarket wheels. Fair tires. I looked on the inside and it has what looks like grey leather. The driver and passenger seats are ripped. The back seats were folded down. A while back he told me that it use to smoke really bad, but he started driving it a little and it cleared up. It is a 5 speed car. I was wondering what these cars are worth and what potential problems they are notorious for? Like I said I am not sure of the year 91" maybe? I am sure it has over 100,000 miles. So what do you think I should offer the guy for it? Also what should I look at I think I am gonna go knock on his door today. Thanks everyone
