Searched the forum and couldn't find an answer to my specific question, so here goes.
I have been looking for another DSM lately, and I found a 91 GSX for sale. Has your typical problems, like headlight motors and what not. But, the major issue is that it uses coolant and idles at 3000 rpms. To me it sounds like a head gasket issue, but being new to the DSM world I am probably wrong, considering our cars are an entirely different monster when it comes to problem diagnosis, etc.\
I asked the guy what was wrong with it exactly, and this is what I got back from him:
Any ideas guys? Only reason I am still looking at it is because its a GSX. May be an auto, but I have a 5sp GS that I can use for parts once I get this on the road. Just want to see if I can figure out whats wrong before I make an $1100 mistake and buy it.

I planned on taking the head off and resurfacing it and putting a new head gasket on. i put a coolant pressure tester on and the pressure did not drop. i was thinking that when the engine is warm the coolant is going through the gasket and head and leaking into the cylinders.

. But now I have another one which I got for a good price so yea anythings possible.
. hes got a stroker, and getting cams, but yet has no gauges, or fuel system, just seems kind of weird. I say just keep the bike until you find out all about this car.
) But just make sure you look over all the paper work and check the motor over good and that stuff. Good luck
