I ran across the 98 Eclipse GS-T pictured. Does anyone know it's history?
Thanks.

I found it for sale and am considering a purchase. It is loaded with goodies throughout, but runs smokey rich at WOT.

So which BOV does it look like?

It's a TurboXS RFL bov.

your gonna need a 1g BOV

He wouldn't need to change the bov. You would have to remove (unscrew, I believe) the horn part and then you can buy a recirculation adapter. As far as quick/easy fix, not sure.

Do you have any other specs on the car? The more information, the better.

You'd also want to replace the valve cover breather with either a hose or inline catch can setup. And also put a cover on the positive battery terminal.

Thanks so much for all your help!!

I haven't purchased the car from the seller so I am just hoping for the seller to be able to address the smoking/ running rich issue before I drop $ on this thing.

From what I know, the engine was completely rebuilt and has -

16G TURBO- EVO III MANIFOLD-650CC INJECTORS-WALBRO FUEL PUMP-APEX INTERCOOLER- HAHN PIPING- BLITZ NUR SPEC EXHAUST - GREDDY PROFEC B BOOST CONTROLLER, APEX S-AFC.

First things first, get the VIN and pay for a Carfax History Report. Make sure it hasn't been in an accident or anything of that nature. What's the mileage and the asking price? If he doesn't want to address the issues, try and negotiate his asking price down and fix it yourself.

Price: 10995
Mileage: 79398

I can probably get him down to 10k, but I'm not sure I want to chance that the issue is even deeper than the vented BOV.

The car also has Level 10 PTS Auto with 3500 stall converter, Buschur downpipe, Greddy turbo timer, MOMO Steering wheel with boost control switch, Tokico struts, Eibach springs, ES Bushings, Sparco Torino seats, DVD player, 12 disc CD changer, Nintendo GC, amp, subs, high end speakers.

I know the price is steep, but it does have a full set of goodies.

However, if you know of a car for sale in my area (Northern VA), I'm ready to check it out.:sneaky:

I'm after a heavily modded but running 95-99 GST or GSX.

Just keep your money until you find a GSX. You'll be much happier in the long run. I've got friends who bought gs-t's and now complain that they wished they would have bought a GSX. Especially for that price don't buy it!

Don't buy! I bought my 99 MINT GSX with 89,000 miles for $7,800. The car is 100% stock. It will give you more knowledge building it up yourself, and more satisfaction.

i see that u live in northern va.. im driving my dsm to Harrisonburg Va on friday for the weekend... its for sale:thumb:

Don't buy it. Get a GSX. I love my GS-T, and it isn't as bad as people say it is, but If I had to do it over again I would have made my life easier and just bought a GSX. Not only that but 11 grand is a little steep, and with a vented B.O.V running mega rich, you would think the owner would want to fix that kind of mechanical stuff, instead of installing all those other things
