Hey thats the car my friend bought this morning. Cool... Just kidding. I think its a good buy. As long as the engine and trans are in good shape. Because if they are crazy enough to make it look like a old school hot wheel after I found the crayons and markers and "Customized" it. Hey bend them over even more and tell them 5500 out the door. Thats what I did when I bought mine years ago. 97 with 100k on it.

Thats terrible. For the money you will spend on new tails, a fender and hood, door skins and anything else they painted inside and a nice paint job you can get a stock one that hasnt been raped for all it has. Save and hold off.

WOW one of the worst looking DSM's i have seen for a while. Would be a pain in the ass getting that to look nice again. And most likely it was beaten to hell. I would stay far away from it personally.

I would not touch it. For the price they are asking and then the cost of you getting it back to normal looking, you could buy a real good condition AWD and have a few spare dollars.

Let the dealer hold onto that car, let him pay for buying someones riced out crap.

Oh hell no! I wouldn't pay more than $2000 for that car. Try finding a cleaner car, that is a waste of a DSM. Just my opinion. If you like the multi-color thing going there, go for it.

Oh and to much . That hood is toe up . Replace and paint . Up goes the price .

The car looks great and I test drove it today. The check engine light is on(he said it was because of the swap). Belt sqeals for about 15 seconds on startup. Boosts to 15 psi and hold rock steady. I did notice the coolant overflow was pretty much empty. I let it idle for awhile then I drove it, the temp stayed right in the middle. When we got back I also checked the dipstick for water and found none. But when I pulled the overflow hose out there was a little bit of steam that came outta it. It was like 5 degrees out today, but what are your opinions on that? I figured he just never filled it up from the swap which was done recently. And last but not least I think I can get it for 7,000 OMG. Don't ask where because I wont tell you :sneaky:.

Seems good, for peace of mind you should run a compression test on it. I would also hook a logger up and see what code is causing the check engine light to come on.

Yeah, I lost my old compression tester so I'll buy another one, and I still have my pocket logger and cable. Hope I can find the software :sosad:. While I'm here, do any of you know what are some common cel's that this swap will cause, so I know if it's a big deal. I have to pass state inspection so I'd have to fix it. Thanks guys

hehe i know exactly where this car is because i have 8k from a loan and this was one of the cars on my list i might get :D better hurry up before i buy it :thumb:

Check engine light first. If the cars at a dealer have them just scan it. Compression check. Leakdown check if you can and know how, check the coolant level itself before and after driving. Check the underside for rust and such.

hello, im new on here. i am looking at buying my first DSM. think i have my mind set on the 1G ones. here is what the ad says " 1990 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Turbo. It's pretty much ready to go. Could use an Idle Air control valve. It has new tires, both CV axles brand new, timing belt and clutch done recently. A great winter car at a very very reasonable price $1200" and the guy also says it has 169k, one rust spot on the driver side fender, it runs great and the turbo pulls nice and strong....if it was you guys, would you buy it? and also, i dont think im supposed to ask on here, but is anyone willing to carfax the vin for me?
