You have all the parts except for the ecu, and a light. So why not get it? You wont be storing your parts anymore plus you get a new car minus paint and a light. Which can be easily fixed. Most 1g dsms need paint anyway.

That price looks too much for that car with all those problems. You can get yourself an awd for that price. but if you really like the car and have some of those parts to replace them, then go for it.

I would say the price is a little high for all the problems. I just picked up a 93 Talon TSI AWD for $300. It had to bent intake valves. That is a fair price. Atleast get them under $500.

+1:thumb:

i picked up my 90 tsi awd for $200. running but needed a turbo and a new hood and lights.
picked up my 93 for $300 3 years ago with crank walk.

The guy I am buying it from is a friend of mine and he runs Bullseye Power turbos so he knows that he could part it out and make more money that way and i don't want to try and rip him off because he helps me out alot so i was thinking of offering him like 750 for it and see where it goes. Let me know what you guys think. I would love to hear my 57 trim again!!!!!

Hey guys I've been working on the car off and on for about 6 months, and now I have to go back to school, however, I haven't gotten this car back on the road yet...
I have a few friends who really love this car and want to take it off my hands, but I have no idea what the car and all the parts I have are worth.
Just wondering what you guys think its worth so that I can come up with a fair price for it. Thanks for all the help along the way, it sucks that I never got this car back on the road but I did learn a great deal trying...

It's a 95 talon TSI AWD with 111k mi and a six-bolt swap. The car has a clean title and a straight frame and no rust.
The interior is in great condition and the only problems on the interior is that the corner of the passenger side airbag has pulled up a little and I don't think the Kenwood CD player is wired in, it looks to be just sitting there.

The car is currently not road worthy. The engine has a misfire on the number 2 plug I can't figure out where it's coming from or why. The #2 plug comes out black and the rest come out lean. I've replaced coil packs and checked all the connections... it's probably something that would be easy to diagnose with proper equipment or dsmlink. The car also smokes when under load sometimes, its not that bad but it gets worse with the misfire. The car also may have a problem with its transfer case, it was clunky on the last trip around the block, and its been making some rattling noises from that area. The turbo and all other components seem to be in good shape and I have no mystery oil in the intake track.

I truly love this car and I really hate to give up on it but I have only a few weeks to go before I move into a new apartment up at school and I need a solid running car.

The following things have been done to the car:

replaced 95 talon front bumper with the 2gB eclipse front end,
2gB black and clear halo headlights with the halos wired into the corner markers
2gB black rear hatch it has a much nicer looking wing and the black looks great with the 2tone car
brand new eagle floor mats
16 inch chrome gsx wheels with new Blizzak snow tires
6bolt engine swap, bottom end swapped by previous owner
6bolt head fresh rebuild. long tail green top CAS all wired in properly
6bolt throttle body
relocated the map sensor to the firewall rather than drilling the manifold
ported 2g throttle body elbow
all new vacuum hoses all around to replace all the old crispy ones
relocated 2g coil packs
custom performance spark plug wires
2 selts of plugs both with less than 5 miles on them
injen air intake with a massive 5inch? wide opening
authentic greddy type S BOV that's properly connected with a second boost source so that it blows off properly with out closing early like most quick Type S installs
painted valve cover! haha that's got to count for something... no?.. well at least I tried
greddy evo2 3inch cat back exhaust
3 inch high flow cat
3 inch down pipe with a big flex pipe
3 inch o2 housing
ACT clutch and pressure
new front half shafts
b&m short shifter...

compression test..
clyinder psi
1 148
2 153
3 150
4 149

I would sell the car with all the following spare parts...
2g head, I don't think it needs to be rebuilt but its probably has all of miles on that head
2g intake manifold
2g throttle body
stock 2g intake
'type S' BOV
stock eagle talon wheels
2gA trunk lid in the black and silver
drivers side door
1st gen repair manual (for the engine)
2nd gen repair manual (for the car)
7 bolt block
new crank
new rods
new pistons
99% of all the seals and rings necessary to rebuild the bottom end and the head, I should have all of them but I may be missing some unknown ones
spare trans, I'm not sure what trans it is so if anyone could help me id what generation it is that would be great
AC system, currently removed from the car but the previous owner said he gave me all the parts and it could be hooked back up if i wanted
talon 2A headlights

lot's of little parts to list that will come with it im not gonna name them all but u get the idea
new pcv valve
spare valve cover
spare set of plugs
optima redtop battery
exhaust hangers
various brand new metal bumper parts and supports
etc...

what do you guys think? i'm just trying to figure out what a fair asking price for this car is... i can throw a link to some pics of it up if you would like

Do you have the money to fix it?

Whats the shape of the rest of the car? Engine? Exterior? Interior?

That question is pretty vauge.

Yes if the exterior and interior is in perfect shape and you have the money for new parts. It will be a decent deal

Man I got a running and driving 1g fwd turbo 5 speed for 500. Not that these deals come along every day I'm just saying that to me a car like that unless the miles are really low and it has no rust is probably worth 400. If he's motivated to sell it doesn't hurt to go and offer it to him just make sure you flash the cash.

well it has nice interior, white with a dented front left fenders 150*** miles broken axles so the tranny might be fine front bumper is bent up a little bit and i tried offering him 400 and he wouldnt take it and i might have the money to fix it so what do you think

At this point i'd say that it needs to be your call. If the trans is ok and all you need is a axle or two it's a ok deal. If you need a trans it's not that great of a deal.

I bought a 91 FWD with a blown tranny and 1 bad axle for $350. It has a really mint interior and decent paint with just a few dings and dents. It is fully drivable now after i fixed it, but be prepared to spend a few dollars if it does end up havng a broken tranny. $400 offer seems reasonable for it in good condition. When you offered him the $400did he even make a counter offer?

Sometimes its a good idea to just let him know that the offer stands and if he changes his mind to give you a call. I've used that multiple times and had people call me back a couple of days later to accept my offer.

Before you buy Id price out everything and make sure you can get everything asap to get it running, probably via local junk yard, you don't want to have a $700 dollar lawn orament.

I have a 95 Eagle Talon TSI, this is the all wheel drive turbo model. It is dark green and has a transmission problem. The first gear synchros will need to be replaced. It has a hks turbo timer, boost guage, air/fuel gauge, full brembo rotors less 1k miles ago with Hawk pads, tow hitch and aftermarket clutch. The car does need a little work.

1. Side skirt is off of car, I have it and the clips for it if i can find them.
2. Boost guage needs to be redone, I have the parts.
3. One motor mount needs to be replaced, I have the parts.
4. Ebrake is not connected.
5. Head unit has problems

it has 130k miles on it
