pulled a small trailer with it, not much weight or anything. the trans had problems before i towed some stuff.

Ok so at my dealership we recently got in a 2005 Evolution VIII MR with 50,000 miles on the clock. The car is unmodded except for a K&N drop in filter. It was owned my a new Nissan Sales man roughly my age, 23. The tire are pretty well done for but everything else is mint. Two mechanics checked it out both of which I trust.

After all is said and done I could get the car for 20k out the door, taxes and all. However, if I do this the rate at which my GSX will receive mods will slow down. Not because I will be modding the Evo but but because an extra $400.00 a month will be going out for payments/insurance.

What do you guys think I should do?

I just graduated college in December. I'm now in the process of paying back the money I owe.

Or another option I have is to buy it, wait for all the paper work to clear itself and then sell it to car max for a profit.

hey everyone whats up im new the dsm world but i picked up last winter a 95 tsi fwd automatic talon that had 14,000 original miles i have driven it for around 2000 miles its in immaculate condition inside and out its almost like off the showroom floor its insane for a 95! the paint shines like new these are original miles the car was owned by a 65 year old couple that just never drove it! i put on a garett 50 trim turbo precision front mount 550 injectors 3 inch exhaust safc manual coost controller boost gauge hks cams dejon intake and so on for the motor.... i just bought a set of 17 inch sport max wheels .... but neway i was wondering i was thinkin about selling it kind of low on cash right now and i know i could get some good money out of it with 16,000 miles in excellent immaculate condition around what could or should i get? thanks guys!

Soo going by your profile & what you've said..you have a GSX, a Talon, and an Elantra..? And you're thinking about making an Evo your fourth car?

Well I have two Talons Technically, a fwd and an awd. I usually just say GSX to make it easier. The fwd I broke the trans and am in the process of getting rid of the car. The Elantra would be replaced by the Evo as the daily driver.

I should put this out there that the Elantra is completky paid off and I currently have no car payments.

I've been in the process of looking for a Gst or an AWD Talon looking to do a semi build on it to make it reasonably fast but still a daily driver.
My gf's brother offered to sell me his 95 gts for $4500 I might be able to get it for 4000 its got 100,000 miles HKS bov, MSD wires and ignition advancer, 3in full exhuast from turbo, injen intake, turbo xs boost controller and defi boost gauge. Also comes with an almost complete 6 bolt motor that I am going to build while I drive it cause there is nothing more annoying than letting your car sit while building.
It just needs new tires which I already have, gauge lights need fixed but I wanted indiglow lights anyways , its time for a new timing belt and needs a new driver side door hinge.
I'm just looking for opinions if I should keep looking or pick this one up, Thanks

I am new to the import scene and I am lookin at a 1995 Eagle Talon TSI car for $1,800 Says the car dont run because it needs timed. Says it has aftermarket cams new head etc and car wont run and he dont wanna fool with timing it says it has a new timing belt... Any advice?? You think the timing belt was improperly done??

I would be very cautious with buying it. You never know if the timing belt was put on incorrectly. It could have bent valves, etc. Or it might be fine.

Here is the deal it was in a collision and the only damage was the hood and the radiator support was pushed in about 1/4 of an inch. The timing belt skipped time and it did bend all the valves so it has a new head on it. He says all it needs is the cams timed and put back together so... any advice?

I know I don't have much info on it but this is what I have.

Up for sale is a green 5speed 97 eclipse turbo convertible, the car has 96k in good conditions, upgraded turbo and some other upgrades. The car has a tan and black leather interiol, very clean and in great condition. The car has all the power, the bads on the car is that sometimes first gear comes out due to clutch almost gone and the back glass has to be stich halh way back into the top.

I say go for it...the window needs restitched? Even if you have to buy a new top it's worth it. Around here all I can find are non-turbo automatic Spyders for that price, and that's once in a blue moonLOL

I already have a 98 at n/a spyder, so this is an upgrade for me, I am just wondering how serious the tranny problem is on this.

I say go for it. I payed 13K for my 97 eclipse GS-T with 84,xxx miles on it from a dealer:notgood: Even with the new top and the tranny problem thats wont even bring you to about half that price. Depending on what you do with the tranny the max would be to replace the whole thing and built it(if you want). I say do it:thumb:

what he's trying to tell you is that the seller in most likely not telling the truth if it just needed to be timed he would do it him self and sell it for more..
so probally he's telling you it has a new head but theres no really way to tell for all you know timing belt snapped then he tryed putting one on to see if it would still work but no luck..
so unless you know how to do a valve job or can afford one go for it..
