i would be working my way through the exhaust. Cat back then test pipe then downpipe and o2 sensor housing. Upping boost always give the most noticable difference in performance, so you will prolly want to do the cat back and test pipe. then get a boost gauge and build your own mbc. then save the rest of your money for your the rest of the exhaust and intercooler piping.
 
I would save ANOTHER $500 and then get the 3" cat eliminator downpipe back exhaust... AND the dejon tool intake pipe, UICP, BOV, and boost controler... that way you have the flow to support the increase in Boost pressure... and you have a good start if you want to do more mods later... but if you HAVE to spend the money now... I would start with a downpipe back exhaust...
 
Thanks a lot for the info guys. I'm gonna go with the DownPipe, Test Pipe and Catback for now. I'd feel more comfortable doing that and taking the time to learn more about the car before I up the boost.

a UCIP and a BOV is a must since the 2G BOV leaks. I'd definatly do those 2 and a good boost gauge. Then hit exhaust and boost controller. After that plugs wires and supporting fuel mods.

i did fipk, plugs and wires, bov, gauges, piller, boost controller, free mods...

i am going to get a FPR, Fuel Pump, and Injectors soon.
 
i would honestly have to say its better to get all the little things out the way because if you are going to go into heavy mods in the future it sux to be restricted by other parts which mean spending unexpected money the list that 98TsiAWD came up with looks like a good base to start with and build on to ... now in addition i have always been the sleeper type so i would say leave the 3"for later since your runing a stock 2g turbo get the test pipe and take the left over $$ and get a 1g turbo and get the exhaust housing ported and have fun surprizing the competition...
 
oh and having the turbo clipped will help as well ...

(by the way if you dont have a muffler for the 3" pipes thats another $200.00 in addition to the 300.00ish for a good muffler)
 
Hey guys, i have attained 5,000 bucks and am asking you what i should spend it on, the following mods i have/have orderd that are not in my sig are, SBR GT-13 turbo, ported exhuast mani, ported o2 housing, 720cc injectors, and all needed oil feed lines ect. for the turbo

I am really thinking of getting a 6-bolt, anyone on a 2G have a built 6 bolt? How much would a 600HP cabable 6-bolt cost to have made and installed into a 2G? And what other things should i get? LSD? Rims! tires!? Im open for any comments, excluding flames!

bore out your engine and get a bigger turbo...but i think thats gonna be more than 5gs....or you could just bore it out and crank up the boost on your existing turbo..then if you have money leftover, get rims and tires..
 
if i were you, i would buy:

1- LSD
2- Shocks and springs
3- 3" turbo-back 02 eliminator exhaust
4- Fuel pump, injectors, safc
5- Intake
6- FMIC
7- 20g or equivalent turbo

i dunno what mods you already have cuz i didnt look, or if 5000 is enough for all of this, but that would be what i would do if i got a bunch of money
 
I have $1600 left from my settlement, and I want to spend it all on my car. I would like you guys to suggest what to spend it on, and what would give me the most benefit? (don't tell me to visit the tuning guide, cause I have like 500 times). Could you tell me which brand is best to go with and all that.
Here's my mods so far: 16G, K&N FIPK, vr-4Bov(same as 1g), UIP(custom made), Boost Gauge, Turbo Timer, Upgraded Brakes.
I was thinking something in the line of Fuel upgrade, exaust, etc.
What do you suggest?
 
exhaust, walbro fuel pump, afc, if you don't have 550 injectors then get them, egt?, fmic or supra intercooler:thumb:

550's, FP, exhaust, fmic

Oh, and like a REAL DSMer . . .
I can turn $4000 into $1600 in <snap fingers> this fast !! ;-)
